For some unknown reason this photo makes me think of Myst (the game). Perhaps the game designers were inspired by these monoculars found on the observation deck of Eiffel Tower.

MacRumors’a göre Apple, önümü...
Dallas Hall was the first building constructed on the Southern Methodist campus. The original building was constructed in 1915 and was designed by the architectural firm Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge. The building's architectural style was particularly influenced by Thomas Jefferson’s interpretation of the Roman Pantheon. The 3-story rotunda and flanking wings are typical of Georgian Revival architecture. The rotunda is topped with brilliant stained glass, and the dome is copper with a rich green patina. Dallas Hall is one of ten SMU buildings listed on the National Historic Register.

Surplus Auction Day!
I got there a lot later than I'd intended because the original plan had been to bring Red along with me, but they overslept, so I took an extra half hour detour for nothing. Womp womp.
But fortunately, they'd only just started once I arrived, which meant they were still auctioning off old cars and trucks outside and I had time to get oriented and see what I wanted to buy.
Ended up picking up a weird little adjustable bedside reading table thingy that I plan to use to hold up a slide projector, a second digital projector since I loaned out my first one, and two really old (~2007 and ~2008) Macbooks Pro. One of the MacBooks is juuuuust barely new enough that it's worth using, but I don't actually have any use for it so I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with it. The other one I might try to sell for less than I bought it for.
Well... my system went boom. So I had to reinstall the OS... and while it was doing so, I got to thinking about my display arrangement, and all the neck pain from craning around to see that fourth display. One ingenious idea, a cannibalized picture frame, and two pair of socks later, this workspace was born [-:

I sold my Samsung 204t's in order to reclaim some desk space. I swapped them with a new Samsung 245bw.
I usually use the second input on the 245BW for the Macbook pro, but depends on what I am working on
Running Qmaster with Compressor for optimization of the multicores. At first ran Qmaster with 24 instances but with only 6GB of RAM it locked up the computer. Dropped it down to 16 instances and it became manageable with about 250MB dedicated to each instance... around 4GB total being used for the transcode. One instance for two cores is the recommended setup.... so I'm really pushing it.
