Concrete Curbing Machine - This four-wheel design, pneumatic tires and rear-wheel drive make this the most maneuverable, easy-to-use sod cutter on the market. Great for the professional landscape curber. Available at The Curb Depot.

Greg finishes welding the 2 new plates onto the V1's outer sub-frame. As with most "design changes" to all SRL machines, this one was motivated by the necessity to break-up the big-ass outrigger type component, into 2 more easily packable pieces.

The ‘Pataphysical Slot Machine was on exhibit at the Mill Valley Library in October 2015.

Visitors on Sunday, October 25 seemed to really enjoy the experience: their faces tell the whole story in this picture, as well are related photo albums such as this one:

My old gym shoes haven't been that comfortable lately, so, as JMK did before me, I went to buy some new shoes today. I don't think I've bought new gym shoes for at least 4 or 5 years, and, in that time, they've gone all flashy and technical. At least they were pretty cushy on the elliptical machine this afternoon.

Our Maker Art class created a Time Machine this year, inviting you to travel through time from the age of dinosaurs to the 50th century.

Our 4th and 5th graders at the Lycée Français designed their own scenes from the past, present or future, and brought them to life with motion, lights and sounds. They also worked in teams to build interactive features like illuminated keypads, spinners and doors, using the popular Arduino platform.

In our after-school classes, we combine art, technology and storytelling to help children create their own magical worlds. They learn to design their ideas, build them with a variety of tools, animate them with electronics and tell their stories. This unique multimedia course helps them develop their creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills -- and builds their confidence that they can help change the world.

This year, we had a really good group of 9 students, ages 8 to 11 -- many of whom had taken our Maker Art classes before. They were very creative and engaged, and did a great job presenting their work at the Lycée Français -- and at Marinovators at the College of Marin on April 22.

This Maker Art class was taught by Fabrice Florin and Edward Janne at the Lycée Français in Sausalito in winter 2017. We met every week for 12 workshops of 90 minutes each, Thursdays at 3:30pm, from January 5 to March 30, 2017. Our teachers are part of the Tam Makers learning community and we prepared materials for this project in our state-of-the-art makerspace at the nearby Tam High School.

The company I work for has several laser cutting machines. This shot is of a tube being cut for Team Redbull Racing to be used in a Nascar frame. The machine is a 6 axis laser capable of doing some really cool things.

I am making some custom speaker stands to match my iMac using these machines. Keep an eye on my stream for those in the next week or so.

This was done with bubbles in the yard...all in the taking of the picture... no post processing. I took several hundred shots of my granddaughter playing with the bubbles from the bubble machine...this was instantly a favorite. She is two and a half and shows just how busy she is. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

My travels around the UK by car for three weeks with my son. June/July 2019 Scotland.

Day Seventeen .. We have two nights in Glasgow starting at a wonderful airbnb in a two bedroom flat. And we have a washing machine!

This was one of the most popular attractions at the 1888 International Exhibition in Kelvingrove Park, a landmark event that attracted over 5.7m visitors.

The Doulton fountain is the largest fountain ever constructed in ceramic.

Queen Victoria forms the apex of the elaborate three-tiered structure. Below, four groups of figures represent the peoples of Britain's colonies in Canada, South Africa, Australia and India. They are accompanied by four water carriers and four servicemen representing the Black Watch, the Grenadier Guards, the Royal Navy and the Irish Fusiliers. The inscriptions and figures on the lowest basin celebrate Glasgow.

Modelled by a team of sculptors, the remarkable ensemble was presented to the City by Sir Henry Doulton. After some debate a site close to the west entrance of Glasgow Green was chosen. The fountain was positioned so that Queen Victoria faced the Justiciary Courthouse. The fountain was formally launched in August 1890. Speaking at the opening, The Lord Provost called it, '..an alliance of the useful and beautiful'. Doulton emphasised, 'that here the artist has combined with the engineer in giving you a very beautiful work....It symbolises the greatness and glory of our empire.'

By the 1990s the fountain was in very poor condition. It was moved to its present site in 2005 following extensive restoration.

The inverted machine - Rechnender Raum (Calculating Space) is a light-weight sculpture, constructed from sticks, strings and little plumbs. At the same time it is a full functional logic exact neural network. Through its strict geometric and otherwise very filigree construction, the observer is able to track the whole processing logic from every viewpoint around the machine. This disclosure of the machines core is enforced by an uncommon distribution of its constructing elements: a nine angled architectural body forms a torus.

How AI is changing the Landscape of Typography

Creativity and innovation are no longer exclusively the province of humans, but the result of collaboration, a game of interpretation in the dialog between humans and machines. This is the world in which we live today, where artificial intelligence is rapidly evolving and new scenarios are opened.

AI technology is transforming the realms of art, design, communication, and marketing. However, when it comes to typography, in this age of co-creation, it has not yet taken center stage in this evolutionary process, but it is ripe for experimentation.

Gianpaolo Tucci's research led him to recognize aesthetic imperfections as a source of uniqueness in each individual representation. The world is entering a new era of typographical artifacts, where typography moves beyond the strict confines of function to embrace new values of expression.

This is not a book on typography, but the expression of a point of view, a practical guide, and an investigation on how the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence will play a fundamental role in modeling this future. This book witnesses the birth of a co-creation era, urging a rethinking to craft a more human-centric future where AI magnifies human creativity, rather than replacing it. Take a breath, and as if we were unaware laboratory animals, Tucci invites to jump into this journey made of confused, blurred, anatomical, radical, colorful, and sometimes overturned visions.

AI and typography—a dialogue between humans & nature!

Sheet-fed offset printing is a method in which individual pages of paper are fed into the machine. This printing method is popular for small and medium-sized fixed jobs such as limited-edition books. In another method, Web offset printing , a continuous roll of paper is fed through the printing press

Microstructural Machine is based on the experimental model of the Bubble Raft proposed by Nobel Laureate William Lawrence Bragg in 1947, and is an extension of this model to construct a real-time dynamic microstructural machine. This drawing machine uses the properties of crystalline structures as the drawing unit, and the dynamic staggered arrangement of controlled crystalline structures to create a miniature landscape, attempting to strike a balance between the properties of natural materials and human control, and exploring the hidden orders of nature.
