Pretty in Pink! I know, right in the middle of all the trucks and tractors, but what can I say? It caught my eye!

It's been a while since there was an event like this. It was a night of man and his machine. A long line of cars drove along a specific route, revving engines, doing burnouts and drifting along the way.

In actuality, this gumball machine is only 11 inches tall. My mom got it for me for Christmas, and it was on my "For when I have no idea what to shoot" list. I looked at the clock and realized I only had five minutes left of Feb 6 and grabbed the gumball machine as quickly as possible.

I bounced my Speedlite off of a white posterboard. At first I thought it was a little underexposed, but I actually kind of like the way the light falls.

Three track machines line up on the Parnell Bank for re-fueling during a major track upgrade.

Roller chains, cog belts, vee belts and spur gears, but not much life left in these old machines. Still look to be in good working order, though, if anyone were interested.

week four, task one, machine wrapped lace? Karen is this right? it seems a little wonky, loppy. i played with the length and found i got less "loppy" bits if i went fast on the foot peddle and just used the regular fme motion on the hoop holding part. this is certainly fast if i did it right but seems like getting it to look the way you want it too? might need practice. i think i went over the threads about 3-4 times. nice thing is you can go up and down the same row...so karen, does it look like it was demonstrated. did you mention how to cut it out? have to go and check the video again. one bit of a suggestion, if you do try this - start with a pretty full bobbin. this beast loves it's thread.

We're all slaves to a big machine
