A vending machine in Kawagoe, Saitama. I like the fact that it was themed in such a way to represent the city. I saw this one near the statue of Ota Dokan, a short walk from Hikawa shrine and the "Bell of Time."

I got wet. It was well worth it for this shot. After he chucked a water bottle into the crowd and then violently slammed down his mic stand shortly afterwards, I decided this was clearly the dude to follow and I pretty much ignored all the other band members. Unfortunately he didn't too much else that was totally crazy.

First sketches and models for the Time Machine, a new interactive art project created by Pataphysical Studios.
In this brainstorm session, each team member sketched out their own ideas, then discussed them with the group, to design our upcoming time travel experience together.
Next, we plan to create a composite design with some of these ideas, to integrate them into a single blueprint.
To be continued ...

The invention of the heart-lung, or cardiopulmonary bypass, machine is one of the most significant contributions in the history of cardiac surgery. Unprecedented federal government funding, combined with major advances in medical research, practices, and materials during World War II, spurred rapid medical innovation. Introduced in 1955, the Mayo-Gibbon heart-lung machine was the first commercially-produced bypass machine. At the Mayo Clinic, Dr. John Kirklin collaborated with colleagues to develop this machine based on Dr. John Gibbon’s blueprints from his earlier experimental design.
The machine takes over the heart’s function to keep the patient’s damaged heart dry yet have oxygenated blood properly circulate through the body during surgery. The heart-lung machine allowed for longer, more complicated cardiac surgeries, and paved the way for artificial heart valves and heart transplants.
As of October 28, 2013, the heart-lung machine is one display in the museum.
