Its been a busy week so I haven’t had the time I hoped to work on these images. I’ve split Friday up into 2 parts since a lot happened. Naturally it was raining, and not just a bit. It was the first time I’ve put a cover on my cameras. Not that it helped as the contacts on the 10-20 failed later that day. I managed to fix them though. So despite the heavy rain lots of people came out to see La Princesse awake for the very first time. It really was something else. Its legs stretched out and toyed with the crowd. La Princesse didn’t like to be confined and kicked the fences down. She headed up the steps by the arena and was attacked by jets of water. This didn’t stop her. She continued up and was forced back by fire and firecrackers. This scared her and she headed back down the steps. Once back at the base the scientists turned on the sleep snow and sent La Princesse back to sleep. For a while…
There's something brilliant about this machine - it's the kind of thing a child might come up with. It's full of conveyer belts, lifts, pistons, things that shove casks onto other conveyers, and a man with a hammer tapping kegs.
Unlike the Guinness Storehouse tour in Dublin, the Fuller's brewery takes you round the actual place where they make the actual beer. In this room though, the machine was so loud that I couldn't quite hear what it did...

One-third scale Pacific-type steam locomotives built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco. Now living at Swanton Pacific RailRoad near Santa Cruz, CA. This is the third of four sister locomotives. She's in the machine shop getting her boiler looked after. The forth never-completed locomotive lives at the California Railway Museum in old town Sacramento, CA. I made a picture of the forth locomotive, 1915, last month.
We got a new donation over at The Geek Group this week - Haas TM1 and TL1 machines. (CNC lathe and mill) This gave us the opportunity to re-arrange the machine shop... I think it's quite pretty! In the adjacent room is the SR-100, a CNC router table.
