a good good friend of mine from back when. this was ben's first tattoo and he was pretty stoked to get it. funny story because i wanted to go with him to the shop when he got it done, but he insisted on going it alone. sure enough, the dumbass tattoo artist messed up part of it by coloring in the wrong part. that's why you should always bring a friend :)
too bad the tattoo artist ruined one of the moons, it would've been such a rad tattoo. i believe he eventually got sick of people telling him it was wrong and got them all filled in to solid black. and got a bible passage underneath it...

Taken with a Skywatcher ED80 Refractor and a Canon 600D at prime focus. Best 20 of 40 images stacked in Registax 6. False colour removed as was dull red as so low in sky. Seeing poor. Going to post last month's full moon superimposed on this picture to really show the difference in size, it's marginal I think :-)
This is one of my first shot of the Lunar Corona with a Full Moon.
Btw, the cloud formed like a football player setting up for a left kick goal... just something to visualize...

I think someone should go up there to fill the potholes :) My 1st and last full moon. Now I can sell my extender :)

Hi everyone! This was one of the first pictures I've taken with my new camera. I'm very impressed and happy with its level of detail - I hope you like it!

"Så underlig det er å stå og fryse.................."How odd it is to stand and freeze
i måneskinnets ensomhet en kveld................in the moonlight's loneliness one night
og kjenne kulden fra det døde lyset...............and feel the chill from the dead light
og være levende allikevel".............................and be alive nevertheless"

Taken with a Skywatcher F8 6" Refractor and Canon 600D at prime focus. Taken from inside my garage due to high winds. Seeing average to poor. Best 20 of 35 RAW images stacked in Registax 6. Telescope on a HEQ5 mount, but not powered up or aligned, just used as a alt/az mount using light pressure on the 2 clutches to hold scope steady as awkward to align etc inside a garage :-)
Nine days old (lunar phase: 70 per cent) waxing gibbous moon at Turku, Finland on 2012_01_03. Different pic as previous, but taken at same time, and not a HDR. It looks even better, don't you think. (Canon EOS 50D + Canon EF 28-300mm L IS + Sigma 2x EX)

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun,
My hunger for her explains everything I've done,
To howl at the moon the whole night through,
And they really don't care if I do.
I'd go out of my mind for you,
Sister Moon!
The second full moon in March will occur on Saturday, March 31, and be a Blue Moon.
