The Corvette ZR1 engine is a heavily modified version of the LS3, designated the LS9. Producing 638 hp (476 kW; 647 PS) and 604 ft·lbf (819 N·m) of torque, it is the most powerful production Corvette to date. The LS9 has a sixth-generation Eaton TVS R2300 roots 4-lobe supercharger with intercoolers from Behr, utilizing an air-to-water, dual-brick design. The supercharger's four-lobe design offers improved efficiency over three-lobe models. To avoid changes to the hood appearance, the supercharger's output was split into two halves. Each cylinder bank has an intercooler.
The cylinder walls of the LS3 are thicker than the Z06's LS7 since the LS3 has a smaller bore. Oil squirters under each piston help cool the pistons and cylinder walls are used for the first time in a production Corvette. Connecting rods and the inlet valve are made of titanium. Heads are made from a special heat resistant aluminum alloy. The camshaft lift was reduced from the LS7's to improve idle quality. With the addition of the supercharger to the 6.2 liter LS9, the higher lift camshaft was no longer necessary to achieve horsepower targets.

Chevrolet designers created the Red Flash Camaro SS Show Car to extend Camaro's look – and even its sound – to a new level.
Red Flash combines Chevrolet Accessory parts available today with some specially designed new concepts from the design studio, resulting in a unique new Camaro statement. Its Red Jewel exterior color is accented with gray heritage stripes and gray-accented 21-inch wheels. Under the hood, a Chevrolet Accessory air intake kit and, out back, the accessory exhaust kit, enhance the car's performance, style and sound.
"The Camaro Red Flash is the opposite of a 'sleeper' on the street," said Adam Barry, lead designer. "From every angle, it looks and sounds like the high-performance sports car it is. It's a model for the enthusiast who doesn't want to hide his performance aspirations."
It also wears Chevrolet Accessory body-color ground effects, high-wing rear spoiler with black-painted stanchions and other gray accents. A lowered suspension lends a more aggressive stance.
Inside, the Red Jewel features an Ebony leather-trimmed cabin with titanium stitching and red accents on the seats. There's also a custom steering wheel, racing-style pedals and red LED lighting for the door trim.

Compared to the fifth generation, the "C6" gets an overhaul of the suspension geometry, all new bodywork with exposed headlamps (for the first time since 1962), a larger passenger compartment, a larger 6.0 L engine, and a much higher level of refinement. Overall, it is 5.1 inches (13 cm) shorter than the C5, but its wheelbase has increased by 1.2 inches (3 cm). It is also one inch (2.5 cm) narrower. Chevrolet hopes the new design will attract buyers of comparable European sports cars like the Porsche 911, but some purists dislike the new styling. The 6.0 L LS2 V8 produces 400 hp (298 kW) at 6000 rpm and 400 lb·ft (542 N·m) of torque at 4400 rpm.
For the 2008 model, the Corvette receives a new engine, the LS3. With displacement increased to 6.2 liters, power is increased to 430 hp (321 kW) and 424 lb·ft (575 N·m) of torque, or 436 hp (325 kW) and 428 lb·ft (580 N·m) with the optional vacuum actuated valve exhaust.

Corvette tuner extraordinaire Callaway has turned its attention to the Camaro. The 2010 Callaway Camaro SC572 is supercharged, of course, and an obvious challenger to Hennessey's HPE550 and SLP's ZL575.
The starting point is a familiar one. Callaway takes the SS model's 6.2-liter LS3 V8 and fits an Eaton TVS2300 roots-type supercharger and a liquid-to-air intercooler, plus a less restrictive intake and exhaust, and higher-flow fuel injectors. Said injectors have carbon fiber covers.
Claimed horsepower is 572 at 6,400 rpm. Claimed torque is 541 pound-feet at 4,000 rpm. And with the stock six-speed manual gearbox driving the rear wheels, Callaway projects 3.9-second 0-to-60-mph capability, plus an 11.94-second quarter-mile at 119.5 mph. And if you never do a burnout, the company estimates you'll get 15 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway (down from 16/24 on a stock Camaro).
The price for all this (including the carbon fiber door sills you see here) is $16,990 and you're covered by Callaway's 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. If you want the nine-spoke wheels or upgraded brakes shown here, that'll cost extra. Other extra-cost items include coil-over suspension (with or without adjustable dampers), a short-throw shifter, a peek-a-boo hood (er, "Power Window" hood) and a chrome-coat engine cover.

Evanta Barchetta (2015) Engine 6162cc V8 LS3
Production 49 (limited)
Registration Number ONE 44 (personalised number, first allocated for Manchester)
Designed by Ant Anstead founder of Evanta cars and known via his Chanel 4 TV programme For The Love of Cars, in a joint venture with tuning company Kahn. Designed as a retro style 50s two seater sportscar. and built in Britain around a tubular chassis and clothed in a kevlar composite bodyshell, the Evanta Barchetta uses a GM-sourced 6.2-litre LS3 engine tuned to produce 450bhp.
Unveiled at the 2015 Goodwood Revival, Ant-Khans intention is to build no more than 20 such cars per year to a limited production run of 50.
The new set-up claims it wants to start manufacturing specialist vehicles exclusively in the UK, using the low-volume expertise of Evanta and the engineering and design skills of Bradford-based Kahn. A restyled Aston Martin WB12 will follow later in 2014, say the company's founders, while the Flying Huntsman will also be produced in 2014. It's a new take on the classic Land Rover Defender using the same GM V8 as the Barchetta, tuned for 550bhp in the 4x4, and has an extra 400mm of bodywork inserted in the nose of the 4x4.
Many thanks for a fantabulous
