We spent some time enjoying the off-road arena. Quite difficult to get unobstructed viewpoints for photos, but it's a great setup with a big jump, some smaller ones and some technical sections. Really fun to watch.

New York Central RS32 #8044 leads a brace a of Alco power, including an RS11 and two more RS32s, on freight LS-3. The train is operating from New York City to Chicago, and has taken the NYC’s route across Canada from Buffalo, through the Detroit tunnel, and is now stopped in Dearborn. NYC had a fueling and servicing stop for through-trains here, and men can be seen fueling and sanding the trailing units. Soon a new crew will climb aboard, and it will be a fast run across the Michigan Central mainline down to Porter, IN, and beyond. The train might also possibly have used the Air Line between Jackson and Three Rivers.
A long-time Alco customer, NYC continued to place orders with Alco for new motive power throughout the 1960s. I’ve never researched it thoroughly, but I would guess they had more 4 axle Alco power than just about any other railroad. The RS32 was a transitionary model, one of the last RS series units before the introduction of the new “Century” line of power a couple of years later. NYC had 25 of them. Their fleet of 10 RS11s, like the #8002 trailing, put the final nail in the coffin for the Central's remaining steam power when delivered in 1957.

Tough shade of blue for me to photograph. Depending on the Sun it looks turquoise in some shots and pastel blue in the shade photos.
