Ex Southdown PD3 operated by London Country whilst they were having a serious shortage of serviceable buses during the mid 70's. LS1-3 were based at Godstone garage in 1975/76 for route 409 between W.Croydon and Forest Row and occasionally the 411 to Reigate, they were relegated afterwards to trainer duties until sold on in 1977.
The Legged Squad Support System (LS3) walks around the Kahuku Training Area July 10, 2014 during the Rim of the Pacific 2014 exercise. The LS3 is experimental technology being tested by the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab during RIMPAC 2014. It is programmed to follow an operator through terrain, carrying heavy loads like water and food to Marines training. There are multiple technologies being tested during RIMPAC, the largest maritime exercise in the Pacific region. This year's RIMPAC features 22 countries and around 25,000 people. For 2009, the base Corvette comes with the 430 horsepower LS3 6.2 liter V8. It is rated at 26 mpg on the highway with many owners reporting 30 mpg.
The Z06 model is even more impressive with the S9 7.0 L V8 which delivers 505 hp.
New for 2009, with a price of a mere $105,000 the ZR1 Corvette comes with a hand assembled, supercharged 6.2 L V8. This most powerful Corvette ever built produces 638 hp.
The ZR1 launches from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds, and covers the quarter mile in 11.3 seconds.
The original ZR-1 was produced from 1990 to 1995 with a maximum horsepower of 405hp. Based on the C4 Corvette, a total of 6,939 ZR-1s were produced.
Notice that the new ZR1 has the hyphen removed from it's name compared to the C4 version.
