I found these on a partially living box elder tree back in the Buckthorn Section of our old pasture.
I think this is one of the most amazing fungi I found this year.
There were two different kinds of fungi on this.
There’s something magical about seeing a dragonfly darting between the reeds on a spring day. With their jewel-like colours and ability to fly backward, they’re quite the aerial specialist.
In some cultures, dragonflies represent good luck or prosperity. So make a wish when you see a dragonfly and it’ll come true...

I’ve loved macro photography since long before I began making photographs myself. Looking closely at things allows us to see things we might otherwise overlook and see what we do see differently. I especially like focus stacking, which makes it possible to achieve otherwise impossible depth of field at close magnification. This image of the center of a blue hardy hibiscus is the result of combining 21 photographs, each with a slightly different focal plane, into one photograph using Helicon Focus.
==> Liebe ist...wie das Salz in der Suppe!
==> Klitze kleine Ohrringe mitten im Salz arrangiert,
==> der kleine Eros mit seinem Liebespfeil.
It's those little things in the centre that captured my imagination. But in general, I love small things...sometimes the smaller the better. Perhaps it's because I love macro photography and have discovered an entire miniature world out there that I now value the tiniest things in this world.
This opening (or closing!) flower was found in my sister's back garden on one of my recent trips over Victoria's northern border.
Flowers means it must be Friday...

I love macro photography! So much of what is hidden is revealed and to me it's always interesting and beautiful.

Even though this weeks theme is stitches, I like the composition of this photo, where the stitches of this shoe aren't really the focus. I feel that it reflects the oversight that many people have regarding stitches and how they go unnoticed in daily life.
This is why I love macro photography.

Portrait of a Many-coloured Bush Anole (Polychrus marmoratus). An arboreal species, it is sometimes referred to as the monkey lizard due to its gait or manner of walking similar to that of many primates. It has the ability to camouflage by changing its skin colour to blend in with the many shades of green, brown, and other colours of the forests it inhabits, as demonstrated by this individual hidden among the hands of fruit of a banana plant. Macro of an almost flowering Schlumbergera bud.
I shot it for the Smile on Saturday group and I am sorry but I love macros so it is a macro again. I have so many flowering (or almost blooming) plants in the house, I love seeing everything coming to live again in January!
Didn't want to take it to my studio but shot where it stands: in the kitchen in front of the window, using daylight.

Since I've just returned from Cuba I thought I'd stick with the tropical theme ;)
