Open up to different genres of photography. I love macro photography as much as I love documenting city life in Washington D.C.. Open yourself to different genres and that way, you'll never feel burned out from photography.

I took this shot of the hoverfly resting inside the rose with the pollen which I believe the fly was collecting.I handheld the camera for this shot. Don't you just love macro!

When I have my camera in my hand on an inspired and creative day, I start to take out all the things I need ... my mind goes totally crazy, I see photos everywhere and in everything, it's controlled madness and very necessary to get my daily routine out of my mind... then I have to stop and choose between everything that happened... this is the result! I love macro photography!

These are three simple drops of water full of color!

Thank you very much for the visits, favorites and kind comments.

This is the result of someone who got bored having the camera in Macro mode next to me! I thought it was a decent image to show!!

I love macro photography! Trying to learn every day...

Thank you very much for your visits, faves and kind comments.

"Let the beauty of what you love be what you do."

Quote - Rumi

I always have loved paper, then I found origami (such a beautiful and creative art) and I also love macro-photography. A perfect combination to reveal the beauty of all three of them ;-))

For the Macro Mondays theme “Defining Beauty”.

HMM everyone!!

Love ... that word so simple and so powerful at the same time... I think it is the key to life, the strength to move forward.... love of people, love of animals, family, nature, to things... in short, love of life! There are so many loves, right?

This week, thanks to a good friend here on Flickr, I discovered a fabulous music group in one of her wonderful posts... I'll keep her anonymous out of respect for her.

Here is the link to one of those lovely songs that touch me...

Thank you very much for your visits, faves and kind comments.

Pentacon 50mm f1.8

This one is another of the Hawthorn Shieldbug I found a few weekends back, with this one I was using my MP-E on a 1.4x teleconverter and it is a 21 image handheld focus stack at F/4.5. Part of the reason I love macro is the ability to see details the human eye can't normally see.

Well looks like Spring is off to a good start. I'm hoping to start seeing Damselflies in the near future, I'm banking on an early emergence this year, possibly by the end of March to early April, I will be checking the BDS sight on a regular basis :o)

- A macaron or French macaroon is a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond powder or ground almond, and food coloring. There is some variation in whether the term macaron or macaroon is used, and the related coconut macaroon is often confused with the macaron. In English, some bakers have adopted the French spelling of macaron for the meringue-based item to distinguish the two.

A typical macaron is presented with a ganache, buttercream or jam filling sandwiched between two such cookies, akin to a sandwich cookie. It is mildly moist and easily melts in the mouth. Macarons can be found in a wide variety of flavors that range from traditional (raspberry, chocolate) to unusual (foie gras, matcha).

Macarons have been produced in the Venetian monasteries since the 8th century A.D. During the Renaissance. It was not until the 1930s that macarons began to be served two-by-two with the addition of jams, liqueurs, and spices. The macaron as it is known today, composed of two almond meringue discs filled with a layer of buttercream, jam, or ganache filling, was originally called the "Gerbet" or the "Paris macaron.

When you turn on your smile

Hunny the sweetest

A hard word to define. A word that can mean something different every time. For instance, the love we have for a pet is different than the love of a mother or brother.

Agraulis vanillae from Abaetetuba, Pará, Brazil (Amazon)

I found these on a partially living box elder tree back in the Buckthorn Section of our old pasture.

I think this is one of the most amazing fungi I found this year.

There were two different kinds of fungi on this.

I’ve loved macro photography since long before I began making photographs myself. Looking closely at things allows us to see things we might otherwise overlook and see what we do see differently. I especially like focus stacking, which makes it possible to achieve otherwise impossible depth of field at close magnification. This image of the center of a blue hardy hibiscus is the result of combining 21 photographs, each with a slightly different focal plane, into one photograph using Helicon Focus.

It's those little things in the centre that captured my imagination. But in general, I love small things...sometimes the smaller the better. Perhaps it's because I love macro photography and have discovered an entire miniature world out there that I now value the tiniest things in this world.

This opening (or closing!) flower was found in my sister's back garden on one of my recent trips over Victoria's northern border.

Flowers means it must be Friday...
