It wasn't the best of sunsets, but it was the best beach to be at for sunset, so I had fun trying to catch the beautiful colours. I failed miserably but this came close. There wasn't much flat wet sand to get reflections, so I took off my shoes, attached them to my camera bag and paddled at low tide . Much later I discovered my shoes weren't attached, and the thought of a half mile walk back to the cottage in bare feet , with resultant thistle punctures necessitated a mad dash to find them. Fortunately they hadn't drifted out to sea, so Lost and found , by Alabama 3 is perfect.
The Forth Bridge was opened in 1890, having been 8 years in the construction. It was started in the knowledge that, given the poor safety standards of the time, men would die in the process. At its peak, approximately 4,600 workers were employed in the bridge's construction.
As of 2009 it was recorded that 73 men lost their lives in accidents. A memorial on shore records their names and occupations.
Two new bridges have since been constructed nearby: The Forth Road Bridge and The Queensferry Crossing.
For me, this original bridge is the most 'handsome' and characterful. We visited on a late autumn evening and stayed for sunset. The gathering dusk gave a sombre and reflective mood.

I went to get my state park pass today at Millerton Lake and did a little exploring with my camera when I was finished. This was the first sunny day we've had in weeks and I was glad to be able to get out into the sun again. I love this time of year in the central valley of California because its green. By the end of April, this area will be brown. One of my family members made a comment about missing the color of green right now because of winter in the Midwest. I've seen pictures back there and believe me I'm glad to be able to get out and explore these areas.
A little note about Lost Lake: it is really a man-made park on the San Joaquin River made by Fresno County. The fish hatchery is right next to the park, and they plant the lake with trout and steelhead salmon. Years ago, rocks and cement slabs were put into the river to slow down its flow and allow a nice location to fish and picnic. Flooding has changed its look over the years, but it is still a great place to get away from the city and relax.
Die Lieblingsplüschmaus unserer Katze Merle findet sich des öfteren im Wassernapf wieder. Wahrscheinlich hat sie dann ein Bad nötig. :-)
Our cat´s favorite toy is often found in the water bowl. Apparently it is ripe for a bath then. :-)

1# lost in focus
I wish I could control time, and don´t lose it. That I could replay the great ones, delete the bad ones and save the precious ones. But that is impossible, or is it. I have the gift to save them, and remember them through pictures.
Guess what, guess what!! Yesterday my new lens came, my new 50mm f1.4..omg..omg. I LOVE IT. He and Bernt (my camera) is getting along so well <3 I have named him Mockinglens..hehe :P
So I have thought about doing something outside the 52, and here it is. I love taking pictures like thÃs :)
