A fantastic coast where I could not resist

experimenting with long exposures......:)

Amazing tornado warned supercell intercepted earlier this month in one of my favorite places the chase storms, Throckmorton, Texas. I did a long exposure (17 seconds) to show off the lightning coming out of the storm. I also wanted to show the motion. The supercell was moving slow at 5 mph and rotating rapidly from the base all the way up to 55 thousand feet. No doubt one of my favorite images of the year. What a night!

Long exposure, flash and continuous light with camera movement.

I stayed at Nachi Katsuura for a night. It was a lovely town.

This is a long exposure shot of Corfu town taken at night and inspired by Mikis Theodorakis’s song ♪︎ ‘If you remember my dream’ (“an thymētheis t’oneiro mou“ in Greek). The lyrics were written by Nikos Gatsos and a translation of them into English follows:

❝︎Sleep in my arms like a star again tonight;

there is no hope left to the world;

now that the night embroiders with kisses your body

measure the pain and leave me alone in the wilderness

If you remember my dream,

I'm waiting for you to come

with a street song to come, my dream,

in the summer when the stars shine, to be dressed with Light❞︎

long exposure: under bridge

I recently picked up my first set of ND filters, and couldn't wait to give them a try. I went down to the coast and tried a few shots. I wasn't worried so much about the composition, since I was mainly concerned with my filter technique and experimentation. I had lost of fun with them, though, and I expect I'll be using them quite a bit. Here I have a 0.6 soft edge graduated along with the Big Stopper.

This is a shot from Atalnterhavsveien in Norway. Not the usual shot of the famous bridge, but sometimes the beauty is not in the obvious :)

Another shot from Hendon Beach but with a bit more of the incoming tide showing.

4122 seconds exposure!

My first very long exposure try! :) This is the sky of our campsite in the Yosemite, and I think the trees are so red from the fire we had.

A long exposure I got last night when I went out with my Dad and my mate Keenan.

The sky was really foggy so I'm really surprised that it came out like this.

I live for unusual conditions and lighting.

Today i needed my Lee superstopper to get long exposure.

Two drops of water between two ND filters, because of the rough water, but I decided to keep them.

20 sec exposure, f22, ISO 100 and 3 ND filters 10, 4 and 2, since it was midday almost.

A 30 second daylight long exposure of a random Iceland waterfall using a 10 stop neutral density filter and polarizer. I encountered this little one on the beautiful hike up to Hengifoss.
