A long exposure scene along the West Coast Trail. Long exposure is one of several tools that enable us to simplify a scene.

15 sec long exposure, multi-framed with the pix himself
Just a quick half hour to myself over the holiday weekend, I'm pretty sure I've photographed these rocks before from a different angle here.
The rocky shore near our family's holiday lodge at Crail is rather uninspiring at low tide, however when the tide is in there are always opportunities to isolate photogenic rocks such as these ones. A dull, breezy and bitterly cold afternoon, I used the 10 Stop ND to flatten out the water and simplify the scene ahead, whilst retaining its subtle tones.
Added my Neutral Density filter to capture this moody long-exposure shot of the Davenport Pier at sunset. This 30-second exposure really brings out the colors and creates a dreamy dystopian perspective.

Amazing tornado warned supercell intercepted earlier this month in one of my favorite places the chase storms, Throckmorton, Texas. I did a long exposure (17 seconds) to show off the lightning coming out of the storm. I also wanted to show the motion. The supercell was moving slow at 5 mph and rotating rapidly from the base all the way up to 55 thousand feet. No doubt one of my favorite images of the year. What a night!

One Two Three Four
Tell me that you love me more
Sleepless, long nights
That was what my youth was for
Oh teenage hopes are alive at your door
Left you with nothing
But they want some more
Oh, oh, oh
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh
You know who you are
Sweetheart, bitter heart
Now I can't tell you apart
Cozy and cold
Put the horse before the cart
Those teenage hopes
Who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up
To one little lie
Oh, oh, oh
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh
You know who you are
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, or ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then (X2)
Oh, oh, oh
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh
You know who you are
Oh, oh, oh
You're changing your heart
Oh, oh, oh
You know who you are....................
Who you are...........
(Whoohoo!)
Follow those teenage hopes (x2)
I stayed at Nachi Katsuura for a night. It was a lovely town.

_____ Long exposure portrait of ALEXiA made in 1 single photographic frame of 601 s - F/2.8 - iso : 500 with one flash on the right of the camera_____
I recently picked up my first set of ND filters, and couldn't wait to give them a try. I went down to the coast and tried a few shots. I wasn't worried so much about the composition, since I was mainly concerned with my filter technique and experimentation. I had lost of fun with them, though, and I expect I'll be using them quite a bit. Here I have a 0.6 soft edge graduated along with the Big Stopper.
