HLVW crossing new Medium Girder Bridge
A soldier from 4 Engineer Support Regiment 4 ESR), CFB Gagtown NB, guides a Heavy Logistic Vehicle Wheeled (HLVW) across a Medium Girder Bridge built by 4 ESR and 56 Engineer Company, St. John's NL, for the residents of Trouty NL on the Bonavista Penninsula, Newfoundland and Labrador. The community of Trouty was literally cut off from supplies and vehicle traffic when the only bridge that connected the community to the mainland was washed away by high water levels brought on by Hurricane Igor.
Operation LAMA (A) 02-10 is the Canadian Forces (CF) joint response led by Canada Command and conducted through Joint Task Force Atlantic (JTFA) to the devastation caused by Hurricane Igor to southern and eastern Newfoundland on 21 September 2010. The domestic humanitarian relief mission incorporated Canadian Forces land, maritime and air assets to deliver much needed assistance to isolated Newfoundland communities cut off by severe road damage. More than 1,000 members from the Air, Land and Maritime components of the CF, in coordination with the Federal Government of Canada and the Provincial Government of Newfoundland and Labrador, are engaged in multiple tasks on Op LAMA (A) 02-10, including: delivering critical supplies such as food, water, medical supplies and fuel; providing medical evacuation; assisting in moving power crews and materials to repair power grids; delivering generators and re-supplying fuel to main communications nodes; assisting with bridging and road repair and transporting engineering analysis teams.

Un membre du 4e Régiment d’appui du génie (4 RAG) de la BFC Gagetown, au Nouveau Brunswick, guide un véhicule logistique à roues (VLLR) sur le pont moyen à poutres construit par le 4 RAG et le 56e Escadron de génie de St. John’s, à T.-N.-L., pour les résidents de Trouty, sur la péninsule Bonavista à Terre Neuve et Labrador. L’approvisionnement par voie routière et la circulation automobile de Trouty ont été bloqués lorsque le seul pont qui reliait la collectivité au continent a été emporté par les niveaux d’eau élevés occasionnés par l’ouragan Igor.
L’opération Lama (A) 02-10 constitue la réponse interarmées des Forces canadiennes dirigée par le Commandement Canada et exécutée par la Force opérationnelle interarmées (Atlantique) (FOIA) aux effets dévastateurs causés par l’ouragan Igor au sud et à l’est de Terre-Neuve le 21 septembre 2010. La mission nationale de secours humanitaire a réuni les ressources terrestres, maritimes et aériens des Forces canadiennes afin d’offrir aux collectivités isolées de Terre-Neuve l’aide indispensable dont ils avaient besoin en raison des dommages routiers importants.
Plus de 1 000 membres des composantes aérienne, terrestre et maritime des FC, en collaboration avec le gouvernement fédéral du Canada et le gouvernement provincial de Terre-Neuve et-Labrador, prennent part à l’exécution de diverses tâches dans le cadre de l’opération Lama (A) 02-10, notamment : livraison de fournitures essentielles telles que de la nourriture, de l’eau, du matériel médical et du carburant; évacuations sanitaires, transport des électriciens et du matériel nécessaire à la réparation du réseau électrique, livraison de génératrices et ravitaillement en carburant aux principaux nœuds de communication, aide à la construction de pont et à la réparation de routes et transport des équipes d’analyse du génie.

The Combat Logistic Patrol makes its way through Helmand towards its destination.
3 Combat Logistic Support Regiment, normally based in Abingdon, Oxfordshire complete a number of Combat Logistic Patrols per week to deliver essential supplies to Task Force Helmand units across the province.
The Operational Effectiveness of Task Force Helmand units is assured through swift resupply to all major and outlying locations. This resupply is conducted through Combat Logistics Patrols of varying size and orientation, with support from air and aviation assets, Royal Engineer call signs and Military Working Dogs.
Combat Logistic Patrols demand a lot from their troops and their vehicles. Between patrols the troops conduct equipment husbandry and physical training to ensure they are ready for operations at short notice. In addition, the regiment is constantly training and improving on best practices.

RFA Sir Bedivere (L3004) was a Landing Ship Logistic of the Round Table (or Sir Lancelot) class. The ship was originally commissioned in 1967 for Army service, and was taken over by the Royal Fleet Auxiliary in 1970. Her home port was Marchwood, Hampshire, which is a major military port on Southampton Water.
Sir Bedivere first saw combat in the Falklands War of 1982. At the start of the war, she was in Vancouver, British Columbia, but started back to the UK immediately. After loading at Marchwood, she left for Ascension Island; she suffered slight damage on 24 May whilst lying in San Carlos Water, when an Argentine Skyhawk dropped a bomb that glanced off the ship. Post-war, she returned from the islands in November 1982, carrying the bodies of 64 men (52 soldiers, 11 Royal Marines, and a Chinese laundryman) whose families had wanted their remains returned. She deployed to the Persian Gulf in 1991 in support of Operation Granby and in 1994 was modernised in a service life extension programme to give her an extra 15 years.
She was lengthened by 12m, had the superstructure altered to a more modern design, the engines replaced, and the bow thrusters changed for more powerful models. After returning to service she was sent to Sierra Leone in 2000 when the UK intervened in the civil war there. Then she operated as the command vessel for British and American MCMVs during Operation Telic in 2003 and then as a troop support ship for the Royal Marines. She was decommissioned on 18 February 2008 and sold to Brazil in December 2008, joining her sister ship Sir Galahad. Sir Bedivere was handed over to the Brazilian Navy on 21 May 2009, after a major refit by A&P Group at Falmouth, Cornwall. She was commissioned into service with the Brazilian Navy, and renamed NDCC Almirante Saboia (G-25).
The Round Table class or Sir class were Landing Ships Logistics (LSL), designed to support amphibious operations. They have both bow and stern doors leading onto the main vehicle deck, making them roll-on/roll-off, combined with ramps that lead to upper and lower vehicle decks. Thanks to their shallow draught, they can theoretically beach themselves and use the bow doors for speedy unloading of troops and equipment, although this was not really practiced. The ships also have landing pads for helicopters on both the upper vehicle deck and behind the superstructure. All of the vessels in this class were replaced in British service by the new Bay class.

Hierdoor rijdt DB Schenker deze treinen nu 'zelf'. Tegenwoordig gaan ze nu nog maar tot Lage Zwaluwe met de 62089 en rijdt er tegenwoordig een koppeltje NMBS HLD77 tussen Lage Zwaluwe en Antwerpen-Noord - Virton in opdracht van DB Schenker. DBS huurt dus de tractie in bij NMBS Logistics. Sinds tijden eindelijk weer planmatige inzet van de HLD77'en in Nederland!
