What do you see? An object on its side left to right, or an object tilting up right to left?

Hint: It's a tiny keyhole on a luggage lock, 24 image focus stack.

We miss our annual spring visit to the east Columbia River Gorge wildflowers but they will be there waiting for us next year. Lupine and balsamroot.

On this image, I let you the viewer fill in the words for the description and association. I guess all of us have our own imagination what it should be so feel free to describe what you think should be the description in the comment below.

This is a shot of a lock keepers cottage on the canal, near to Wistow Park, the small gate on the left is a right of way footpath down to the canal. The original cottage has been modified quite considerably.

It's hard to believe 513 has been around for over 16 years. It was easy to overlook, but I generally tried to see it when the opportunity presented itself and I tried to do something different.

On May 28, 2026, I swapped vehicles with my wife on Arsenal Island and timed it with BICR's passing over the Government Bridge. This view is from the riverbank on the Arsenal next to the historical marker for the first bridge across the Mississippi River, looking down Lock 15 at the swing-span. Hopefully we'll be able to see 513 cross the River again in the future.

People-running from unhappiness,

hiding in power-

are locked within their reputations,

ambitions, beliefs.

Richard Avedon

"The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them -- words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for want of an understanding ear."

These two young bucks were playing this game for fun!

I hate Mondays. This Monday especially. I lost my keys and locked myself out, so now I’m waiting for the locksmith. This will probably cost me at least L$50.000.
