and #42 - Wheel, 52 in 2016 Challenge

Hurley Lock is on the River Thames near Maidenhead in Berkshire. I took this on a very hot Summer morning in May on an outing with my Photography Club. The whole area is beautiful, but I was attracted by the reflections under the bridge, and the lovely green foliage on the trees.

After several false starts, Osprey finally set his sights on a late breakfast on Horsepen Bayou.

If you don't lock it, it will disappear overnight....

I think this is a small vintage cupboard lock. I lucked out a little as I nearly used this object for last weeks theme as lock and key!

This rustic door and lock grabbed my attention for an abstract shot while visiting Herronswood House and Garden, Dromana on the Mornington Peninsula.

Der Elbe-Seitenkanal ist auf seiner gesamten Länge von rund 115 km (vom Wasserstraßenkreuz Edesbüttel/Wolfsburg bis zur Mündung in die Elbe bei Artlenburg) auf beiden Seiten durchgehend mit Radwegen erschlossen. Die Wege sind flach, weitgehend gerade und bestehen teils aus Asphalt, teils aus befestigten Feld- und Waldwegen. Ein besonderes Highlight auf der Strecke ist das Schiffshebewerk Scharnebeck. Wenn man gut ist schafft man es mit dem E bike locker an einem Tag. Schöner ist es , wenn man einen Abstecher in Lüneburg, Bad Bevensenund Uelzen macht.

The Hawk Conservancy flying displays have the birds flying above and through the crowd to get a good view of the birds.

One is warned to duck if you think the bird is going to hit you, because the likelihood is that they will!

It's a wonderful and exciting way of seeing these birds at close range, if a little worrisome at times!

With a rainy day and time on my hands I've been playing around with editing effects, and debating between this and a black and white version that showed spider webs ono the wall behind the door. However, i decided to get brave and go all out with pop colour.
