On February 16th we made a brief stop at Lock 14 on the Mississippi River near Davenport on our way home from our daughter's house in Iowa. I had made the trip and spent 6 hours at this location a couple of weeks earlier photographing the eagles. Since we were driving right by we wanted to stop and see if there were still any eagles there. It was a little after 4:00 so not much good light left - but there were still a dozen or more eagles around. They were pretty much settling in for the evening it seemed - but I was able to get a few shots before the light wasn't any good. Fun place!

Today was block day,so didn't have to wait up so early. Boring ass day at school. I went home and took an hour nap. After that,a friend of mine came over and we chilled for a little bit. Then went home,and started on some homework,showered,and had dinner. Another same old day. This is also the lock I carrry with me when I go riding myself. Its light,small,and handle. I wouldn't recommend you use this as your main lock. But if its just for a short time,and you are watching it. Its great!
It kept criminals locked behind those bars for decades but didn't manage to keep itself locked to the ground any longer.

The photograph shows Lock No.27, with a bascule bridge over the lock chamber, looking east, in 1894. To the right can be seen stacks of timber at Robinson Dunn's yard, probably brought from Grangemouth along the canal.
The bascule bridge over Lock 27 was replaced by a steel lifting bridge over Bearsden Road in 1932, when the road system at Temple was modernised
I walked out of Monmouth Coffee in Borough Market in London and saw what I thought was a scene from the film Lock Stock.

Even a city like London has some beautiful views although just out of shot is a crack addict reading Heat magazine, a woman being shot in the shin and a double decker bus crashing into a B&Q.
Sometimes in photographer there are places in which you're just not allowed to travel. What do you do then?
