This was taken standing down near the lower east end of Enlarged Erie Canal Lock 59 and as you can see it was a bit swampy. North chamber and the center island are shown. Located on North Clinton Street, across from Barge Lock 28-B in Newark, NY.

Fricks Lock is this town that is now abandoned. From what I know, there was a lock there. Now a power company owns all the land and the town is all boarded up. There are lots of No Tresspassing signs up all over and signs indicating that the place has cameras all over, so we didn't go in. We have since found out you can get a permit to enter.

Coxes Lock was built between 1651 and 1653, as part of an important link to transport heavy goods between London and Guildford. The Lock contains a stone inscribed "Built 1770" when improvements were made to the structure and banks. Coxes Lock is the deepest unmanned lock on the Navigation with a rise of 8 feet 6 inches (2.59 m) - and is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the Thames.

In 1776 an iron entrepreneur, a Mr Cox, recognised the potential that the site offered and started to build his iron mill which became known as Coxes Lock Mill

A lock on a door in one of the castles we visited near Prague.

This is a makeshift lock I made for my door. It's actually quite clever! I simply used a shoelace to secure the lock shut. I broke this door handle when I was younger... I got in a fight with my sister and I picked up a wheelie chair to defend myself. The wheelie chair hit the doorknob and dented the lock, thus, rendering it useless. But that's fixed now! My dad says there's no need to lock my door. He thinks it's dishonest. My mom believes that I use the shoelace to choke myself and get some sort of sexual high. All I wanted was some privacy... Isn't a kids room supposed to be a haven from the outside world?
