In a confused and raucous finish, Logan Loader pulled himself out of the crowd and into a third-place finish in today’s Downtown Grand Prix. A big crowd turned out to watch the racers tear up the streets of downtown Merced and attack the 40 laps of a 1.5km circuit.
Bissell Pro Cycling’s Patrick Bevin took first today with a time of 78 minutes, putting him back in the yellow jersey. Second place went to Optum Pro Cycling’s Ken Hanson who crossed the line half a bike length behind Bevin in a photo finish with Loader. Former national U-23 crit champion Justin Williams came in fourth.
Team California Giant/Specialized controlled the race for the first 27 laps as they worked to protect their man in yellow, Evan Huffman. Bissell took over for the last 13 laps in a successful bid to get Bevin back into the GC lead. Huffman was ultimately dropped with about five laps to go.
Slower speeds in the final three laps of the race meant that riders started to swarm a bit, leading to confusion and bumping in the field. Bevin, Hanson and Williams boxed Logan in on the final stretch, but Logan was able to get outside and move up enough to gain his place on the podium.
Logan’s third-place finish earned him a 4-second time bonus, which puts him and teammate Serge Tvetcov just 23 seconds behind Bevin for the overall lead. Serge sits in third place overall, Logan in fourth. Optum Pro Cycling’s Tom Zirbel is in second place with 22 seconds needed to bridge the gap.
With two riders in the race for GC, Team Exergy is ready to take on tomorrow’s final stage of the Merco Cycling Classic, a 200k road race. Tvetcov will wear the Best Young Rider jersey and Loader will sport the Points jersey for the final stage.

The light is fading at Chinnor as some bags of unwanted materials are loaded on to a Lowmac wagon that has an Atlas crane mounted on it. Inspiration : Jealousy/Envy
Journaling reads:
"People often think that jealousy is a bad thing, but I tend to disagree. Every single day I find boatloads of inspiration in the digital world - Pinterest & Facebook, designer blogs & Instagram. I'm not jealous of the beautiful works of art - but I'm willing to admit that I am indeed jealous of the people who get to be creative FOR A LIVING. The product designers & the sample makers, the brains behind the brilliance & the hands that bring products to life. I'm jealous of these people, but also SO INSPIRED by them. Who says I can't do what they do? I'm working on ideas & refocusing my energy on things that make me happy - on art & creating. I'm getting to the point where I'm realizing the only bad choices I make are the ones involving not trying & being afraid to fail. If I fail, it means I tried & more likely than not, I'll learn a few things along the way. I've had a lot of thoughts & dreams & I'm determined to put them into action. I'm taking my [happy] jealousy of full time creative people & using it to inspire me, to motivate me. I have a feeling that when I get started - there will be no backing down ... & I can't wait. Loosely based on the sketch from today's prompt. I took Lain's suggestion and made this 8X8 as the photos are old and of poor quality. A story about how my daughter gave chicken pox to her dad and brother.

The bulldozer takes a load of new asphalt to a waiting semi truck. I'm glad the road isn't entirely blocked off - yet!
All my scrap supplies are packed in my car for a weekend crop. Luckily, my Citrus Twist kit arrived so I used bits from that and dug into my washi stash. Thanks for looking!
Another load of timber going out of the harbour, not sure about deforestation of the Amazon, certainly seems to apply to the highlands, replanting? White windmills instead.

Day Ten
I find that I use a lot of color in my pages and books, even colors that years ago I would have strayed away from. However, I don't often use a lot of pink...so I picked that. I also use a ton of neutrals, so I opted for black since it complimented the photo.

"I met these four rockstars and in the past three years they have changed my LIFE! I was lucky to see them everyday-the provide so much laughter, shared in my tears, helped reign in my pigeon-ness and even supported me through an intervention. They are so talented, so creative and I'm so THANKFUL for them-for their friendship, their big sister-ness, their mom-isms and so much more. Love! 10-11 :)"
*Side note...the "intervention" mentioned was nothing serious. It was more of a running joke than anything. Just so people aren't concerned...everything is fine. :)*

My wife and I traveled by Amtrak to visit family in Maryland. We started our journey in Fayetteville, NC. Pictured is the loading platform at the depot. Across the tracks is the Airborne museum building.
This has become my favorite stamp set (next to the Doodle This set of course). I've really gotten into the whole coloring thing though. Absolutely love it. I have a set of generic watercolor pencils I bought from Hobby Lobby, but eventually I want to complete my set of Stampin' Up Watercolor Wonder crayons.
I made this library pocket card using a library pocket from Bazzill Basics. I'm beginning to learn of other companies that do paper just as well as Stampin' Up and Bazzill is one of them. I actually bought these library pockets for my Christmas cards last year, but poor planning and lack of time made me have to put them aside. Oh well, at least I'm able to use them now! :)

Taken with a Konica Full Auto camera on Ilford Delta 400 film. Processed in HC110 by Kodak. Don't know what happened here but it's a weird effect. Probably the cold weather didn't help things.
I love this photo of my boys intertubing in Tahoe. It reminds me of how alike they are, and how much they both love me. I see it, and I feel like glowing.
And again, funky lighting! I love how one corner actually has the right color grey! :) You guess which one!
