I came across this low-lit hillside in a ponderosa pine woods while I was taking a hike in the very late afternoon, the sun only about one degree above the horizon. With a camera bag nearby, I had the chance to make this grab shot and, simple though it is, I liked the mood and the flavor of it.
For the record, we are in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana here. Well, I was. You are where you are, of course. Our various places. Equally alive and visually interesting, I'm sure.
Low light RP images. I like this camera but I pick up the R6 on Tuesday. The RP may be in the pile of gear to get traded.

The Literary and Philosophical Society of Newcastle upon Tyne, aka “Lit & Phil” as it is popularly known, is a historical library. It’s the largest independent library outside London. The library is still available for both lending (to members) and as a free reference library. It houses over 160,000 books.
It was founded in 1793 as a "conversation club" by the Reverend William Turner c.s. The annual subscription was originally one guinea. The Lit & Phil retains its mission: to educate the people of Newcastle and the surrounding area. There are currently around 2000 members, the highest figure for decades; since 1952 to be precise. Next to literature, it has an outstanding music library.
The Lit & Phil is a public building and everyone is welcome to use it. Just go up the stairs and enter the library. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. It is allowed to take photos inside as long as you respect the house rules. So, please take the time for a visit. It is a hidden gem and waiting for you to discover it.
Technical stuff
This is a single shot photo. I used a sigma fisheye lens (15mm). So no pano as you might expect of me.
Post-production included nothing much. I tinkered a little with the curves tool in PS CC to give it a HDR-look; but is actually isn’t. And as always, I added some copyright watermarks. They are, alas, there to stay due to the frequent copying of my photos. So, don't bother commenting on that.

This evening there was a light show at the De La Warr Pavilion in Bexhill.
The OH said it was due to start at 6.30pm and we got down there just after 6, only to be told it wouldn't start until 7pm.
So the OH says lets go to Wetherspoons for something to eat. But to get to Weatherspoons we have to walk by at least half dozen other restaurants. The first of which was packed coz they had a live band. But the second wasn't that full, so in I goes, ask for a table, sits down and orders wine. But then the menus arrive and the OH declares there is nothing on the menu he can eat ... he is the most fussy and difficult person in the world to feed! So I just ordered a sharing platter of mixed starters, which even he enjoyed, shock horror!!
Anyways, we were back for the light show at 7 and that lasted all of 15 minutes, and was great, only it didn't go on long enough.
Clean fold of Parallelograms Tessellation in back-light. See previous post or origami.kosmulski.org/models/parallelograms-clean-fold for more about this design.
Unfortunately I couldn't get the entire tree in the photo. This was taken in the parking lot of a newly opened Dollar Tree. I was almost against the building and using any wider lens and you would see the lights lighting the tree. I still like the look I got.
The light colours were brilliant from here, and I was lucky enough to have a wall to hold my camera steady to capture it.
Comments and favourites are all greatly appreciated!

This is a re-composite, re-edit of an image I shot back in April.
I wasn't happy with my first outcome of the image and hated letting it sit in my computer files all this time. I went back and took another go at editing the image.
So happy I was able to make this image come to life once again. xx
