Yet another backlist Hare, The knowledge I've gained from a friend Colin Edwards wideside on light has helped me choose better images, look at background wait for that shot create a image instead of spray and prey, firing like a machine. This hare just wanted to mess around at the top of the slop, i waited as i could see the dark back ground of the belt of trees, not being distracted by the movement i waited until it hopped into place, then i single shotted it, changed setting and fired again, this image was the 4th in a series, each time daring to push the exposer compensation that bit more. thankfully the light and my slight move gave me nice light.
Hope you enjoy and thank you all for viewing my images
In the middle of the day, it was a flat boring landscape before me. But the fluffy clouds over the land didn't make me hopeless. Besides, two years ago this place opened a new vision for me and that style inspired some of my photographer friends as well.
Fortunately, some of them were with me. Unfortunately, all left the place immediately after we reached there except one; who seemed to anticipate what I already anticipated. He was as excited as I to see an opportunity to work on that style.
We knew what we were going to do with this scene and made up our minds to remain. Yet the moment we expected hadn't arrived and we had no way to avoid the scorching sun. We covered ourselves as much as we could. Then waited for a big fluffy cloud to come right under the sun to block some of the light and to create a beautiful interplay of light and shadow. Since the day wasn't windy the movement of the clouds was very slow. I mounted my camera on my tripod and waited patiently what we all landscape photographers are supposed to do. Because she performs at her will and takes no command from us.

This mini chocolate Santa Claus is waiting for the holy evening in the candlelight. He just has to be careful that he does not get too close to the candle, otherwise the chocolate melts.

A closeup shot of the Calgary Tower when it's all lit up.
This was from Canada Day 2011, I forgot to post this picture back then.

I bought this little owl at Ryoan-ji temple in Kyoto, Japan. Owls are a symbol of good luck in Japanese Zen Buddhism. The owl is 6 cm tall.
My set up included two tea lights (candles) placed at the front on either side (out of frame). The light is reflected on the bowl of a silver soup ladle placed behind the object, which is sitting on a black granite tile.
"Lit Reflections:" Despite how laborious it was to get to this location, last month I had to return not once, but twice more just for the right timing to capture this tree above the waterfall being solely lit with everything else in dark shadows and the winds calm enough to be able to capture a reflection. I stood there in the cold shade for a while until just the right moment. I hope you enjoy.
