As you drive towards Portland, you will end up in a parking lot quite close to the lighthouse and beyond which you will not be able to proceed...Portland Bill Lighthouse is one of the most beautiful lighthouse locations I have ever been to...I have always dreamed of going well into the ocean and framing the lighthouse with the adjacent rocks and water. This is one place that offers this unique vantage point.
Although I had shot this almost a year ago, I somehow had overlooked one of the best places I had been during my trip to the Jurassic Coast. I can still feel the bitter cold that was that morning. The hues in the sky were just there for a brief moment after which the sun came out fully well and eclipsed the colors that were there on display.
Have a nice day everyone!
Sunflowers lit by setting Sun in Yolo County
Took this while scouting locations in the area. Was really impressed with the line up of these flowers with mountain backdrop.
Another great evening in paradise! This image was taken with a 14mm 2.8 on the Burrard Street Bridge. Things were going well until I almost took out a cyclist with my tripod. (emphasis placed on 'almost')
"30 LITS est une œuvre éphémère réalisée par KANVA. L’installation, qui durera deux mois, se déploie sur un terrain vacant privé au centre-ville de Montréal. Il s’agit d’une œuvre délicate constituée de 30 cadres de lits dépareillés récupérés à travers la ville et peints en blanc.
Par ailleurs, les 30 lits que l’œuvre expose soulignent la vocation future du terrain vacant puisque ce dernier accueillera bientôt une résidence universitaire de 30 chambres."
"30 LITS is an ephemeral art installation by KANVA. Slated to last two months, the exhibition occupies a private, vacant site in downtown Montreal. It is a delicate work consisting of 30 mismatched beds which were salvaged across the city and painted white.
The 30 beds displayed in this installation underline the future vocation of the site: a university residence of 30 rooms."
These leaves are different than regular flat leaves - they are 3D and hollow inside. Now that I'm saying that out loud (typing it! lol), I must go get some for further investigation!! :-)
Richborough Cooling Towers at night. The orange glow is from the lights of Pfizer on the other side.
At the time, i had just been to a photography club in Margate, and was out for a drive, when i saw there was a low fog. This fog was not to the ground so you could drive under and see perfectly clearly, but any one traveling on the top deck of a double decker bus, may be restricted for view. (to give you some idea how low the fog was. This is no exageration)
There is a small road with a railway crossing, and i am parked up on a dirt track leading to farmers fields, The fog started to lift a bit when i started taking some photos, and the results from my evening are all simular to this. I picked the best one out of the bunch to display.
The only unfortunate thing is, it is very hard to show the fog. Its strange, that if i stood on a bank beside the road, i could jump up and put my hand into the fog! it was a very cold evening there and after 9 photos of 15 to 40 second exposures, i was very cold and got back in the car to warm up.

I have been wanting to try the fire painting underneath a structure for some time as I think the sparks bouncing and reflecting creates a unique effect.
I finally found a location with the help of an image found on another users flickr photo stream (Di's Eyes - Thank you!) and decided to scout it out this evening.

It was my Birthday this week so I lit myself a candle.
I lit the background with candles, following on from last week's theme.
My husband's Christmas Hellebore (Helleborus Hybrida 'Frosty') lit by candlelight for the Smile on Saturday challenge! Happy Smile On Saturday everyone!
Yet another backlist Hare, The knowledge I've gained from a friend Colin Edwards wideside on light has helped me choose better images, look at background wait for that shot create a image instead of spray and prey, firing like a machine. This hare just wanted to mess around at the top of the slop, i waited as i could see the dark back ground of the belt of trees, not being distracted by the movement i waited until it hopped into place, then i single shotted it, changed setting and fired again, this image was the 4th in a series, each time daring to push the exposer compensation that bit more. thankfully the light and my slight move gave me nice light.
Hope you enjoy and thank you all for viewing my images
