Venus and Jupiter in the sky above the bridge.

I like this bridge, it has a nice reflection in the water and around

the lake, called Farris, is a nice hiking area.

I was focusing on my favorite convenience store to photograph and I saw a biker coming into the frame and I decided to include him in the composition. I was really happy with the results even though the punctum of this photograph —what Roland Barthes defines as the aspect of an image that moves a viewer in a deep or emotional way— was intended to be the dimly lit Parklaine Variety sign.

This is the beauty of photography; one often arrives with a specific goal in mind but it is often the accidents or unplanned events that make an image stand out.

The last day of summer,

Oh, it's lit. That's for sure.

i photographed this lighttower in hjo, sweden during my interrail vacation through the south of scandinavia. to be honest with you, the sky was pretty blue when i took the photo but when i was postprocessing it for our photobook of the adventure i got a little bit carried away with the sliders. just a tiny little bit lol. make the best out of your life and if it doesn't give you the sunset you prayed for make it the sunset of your dreams. so today i wanna leave you with the goodbye a chinese photographer left me with the other day: i wish you a happy life

Rattray head once again for another supermoon rise. the cloud bank on the horizon hampered the first sight of the moon but ten minutes in we were glad of the clouds as it meant our shots didn't have blown out highlights! You can see my shooting companion in the foreground, just to the right of the moonbeam reflection.

My blossoming chestnut tree lit from behind.

For this week Macro Mondays challenge, "Lit by Candlelight", a bit abstract view of a little chrysanthemums in a glass of water.

It is lit only by few tea candles.

Macro Mondays - Lit By Candlelight

I decided to go with a holiday theme and to process it just a bit. This is a portion of a reindeer candle holder with a crystal Christmas tree in the background to add some bokeh. I had a tall candle on either side for lighting and all other lights were off. There was just a bit of ambient light coming in through the windows, but not much at that time of day. The bit of red over the eye is a reflection of the big red mug that I use for my tea. The splashes of blue are probably from the blue fleece that I was wearing. I thought about reshooting to get rid of the red and blue, but decided to leave it. If you look closely, you can also see just a bit of green candle wax in the red highlight. HMM!

The far upper left corner has a rather interesting detail to it. A wrecked room?

Technocolour Tudor. Hampton Court Palace lit up for the ice skaters. The walls change colours every minute or so, as do the lights inside. Spectacular. I think Henry VIII would approve.

It was cool to see this in person.
