For this week Macro Mondays challenge, "Lit by Candlelight", a bit abstract view of a little chrysanthemums in a glass of water.
It is lit only by few tea candles.
Macro Mondays - Lit By Candlelight
I decided to go with a holiday theme and to process it just a bit. This is a portion of a reindeer candle holder with a crystal Christmas tree in the background to add some bokeh. I had a tall candle on either side for lighting and all other lights were off. There was just a bit of ambient light coming in through the windows, but not much at that time of day. The bit of red over the eye is a reflection of the big red mug that I use for my tea. The splashes of blue are probably from the blue fleece that I was wearing. I thought about reshooting to get rid of the red and blue, but decided to leave it. If you look closely, you can also see just a bit of green candle wax in the red highlight. HMM!
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to view, fave or comment on my photo. It is very much appreciated!

Thank you Marty and Lisa!
The Cottage Hotel had a turn of the century beginning with the gold mining boom in the town of Randsburg. It outlasted 3 fires, flu epidemics and many rough customers.
Awake to coffee & tea at a delicious continental breakfast served in the Tea Room. Today the rooms have been restored to reflect that By Gone Era, with one difference, you personal comfort is our priority.
A loaded BNSF coal train bound for Texas has entered the block at Messex, Colorado at dusk and lit up the normally dark and quiet searchlights at the siding. The horn will blow, the sound of tons of coal will bang over the siding switch, and in a matter of minutes, the signals will go dark, and all will be silent again aside from some frogs croaking away into the night.
This is another recently recovered shot which, unfortunately, is not an original edit. This shows a wall cloud illuminated by lightning about three miles north and east. The cell was tornado warned shortly before this.

Snow showing in the back country near Markleeville, a forest service shed had its lights on and lit up this lone tree in the open.
The bridge will be lit up all weekend long with special colors.

Mammatus is one of my favorite cloud types. Captured these beauties on the back side of a supercell we had been chasing for hours in the Oklahoma Panhandle. What’s amazing to me is this was taken at almost 10pm during an extended blue hour. Lightning all around lit up the foreground. One of my favorites. Hope you enjoy
