I took a long walk in the vineyards this morning. The light was lovely, the grapes colourful and I had a great time. :)

Everyone has their own definition of what "Handmade" means to them and what they visualise those "types" in their mind. I have photographed here 2 distinctive polarities. Firstly you'll see a crafted shot of individual small pieces of paper positioned, fanned and curved to capture light and structure. (Then) Secondly, you'll see the finesse of "Handmade" with the skill of a master in watchmaking ... and of course with all photography with it likes and dislikes it's very much in the eye of the beholder.
I wasn't the only one strolling around St Ives that day and we all seemed to be strolling at the same leisurely pace. I felt I got a definite flavour of the place actually and may get Jonathan to walk around these back streets if we manage another visit as he dislikes St Ives..dismissing it as twee and stereotyped to fit with its fame as one of the most beautiful places in Cornwall...

Another throwback, but with the weather as it is, going out isn't an option - unless necessary.

The new look to the old walls at Valletta. I believe that the new building on the Right Hand Side is for the Maltese Parliament.
Goats are typically very curious, and will come up to the fence when a person is present. And if you're gonna properly check out a goat, you gotta get face-to-face with it, up close. This little guy was doing just that, going down the line and getting face-to-face with each goat in every pen.

The sun is finally out in Sydney and it's easy to become obsessed with shadows. This one from a concrete batching plant.
I'll leave this for people to guess a while as to what it is but I think it's fairly self-explanatory?
Happy Macro Mondays, Flickr friends! :-)
Waiting for the ferry home. One of the best journeys I ever had was from Livingston to Schatt Harding in Norway. I used train, plane, bus, ferry & taxi. Waiting for the ferry or taxi at Malkenes was the best bit.
The spikey burdocks are in abundance this time of year with their spikey exteriors that will stick on to anything that passes. I first came across the Dandelion and Burdock drink when we moved to Yorkshire, and it's a lovely alternative to coke!
My second to last Poppy field shot-the one of the tree in this
field ( five photos back - not this shot ) with more room given to the sky was recently critiqued by a young lady who said she found it rather flat..
I truly do not mind critique at all and actually it is nice if someone cares enough to bother. So the acid test.. I looked through the other shots taken around the same time- difficult to forget as I thought I was in danger of being shot at the time..and found this one. The angle it was taken at was lower so showing less sky and more of the crop of Barley and the Poppies..answers on a postcard please ;-))

It has been so hot and sunny here Henry, our neighbour's cat, found a place in our garden to cool down. After I took the photo he put his head down so those pink ears of his were in the shade as well

The Three Rondavels are a set of three distinctive, round-topped rock formations in Mpumalanga, South Africa, resembling traditional African huts (rondavels). They are a major feature of the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, offering spectacular views of the canyon and surrounding landscape.
