went to my studios rooftop and found this beautiful sunset, unusual during this season, just when I pointed my camera; the crows started flying all over. Probably they felt threatened.....Thanks to the crows...ha ha!

The popular sentinals at Buttermere a couple of Autumns ago. Looking back through some old images, this shot inspired a recent visit back to this beautiful part of the English lake district.
This was a prime example of a nice image coming from a disappointing sunrise excursion. There was a constant stream of small rain storms passing out to sea and I nearly packed up and went home.. glad I didn't

Long enough have you dream’d contemptible dreams,
Now I wash the gum from your eyes,
You must habit yourself to the dazzle of the light and of every moment of your life.
Long have you timidly waded holding a plank by the shore,
Now I will you to be a bold swimmer,
To jump off in the midst of the sea, rise again, nod to me, shout, and laughingly dash with your hair.

Thunderstorms
What is a thunderstorm?
A thunderstorm is a rain shower during which you hear thunder. Since thunder comes from lightning, all thunderstorms have lightning.
Why do I sometimes hear meteorologists use the word “convection” when talking about thunderstorms?
Usually created by surface heating, convection is upward atmospheric motion that transports whatever is in the air along with it—especially any moisture available in the air. A thunderstorm is the result of convection.
What is a severe thunderstorm?
A thunderstorm is classified as “severe” when it contains one or more of the following: hail one inch or greater, winds gusting in excess of 50 knots (57.5 mph), or a tornado.
How many thunderstorms are there?
Worldwide, there are an estimated 16 million thunderstorms each year, and at any given moment, there are roughly 2,000 thunderstorms in progress. There are about 100,000 thunderstorms each year in the U.S. alone. About 10% of these reach severe levels.

Crepuscular rays
Crepuscular rays /kr?'p?skj?l?r/ (more commonly known as sunbeams, sun rays, or god rays), in atmospheric optics, are rays of sunlight that appear to radiate from the point in the sky where the sun is located. These rays, which stream through gaps in clouds (particularly stratocumulus) or between other objects, are columns of sunlit air separated by darker cloud-shadowed regions. Despite seeming to converge at a point, the rays are in fact near-parallel shafts of sunlight. Their apparent convergence is a perspective effect, similar, for example, to the way that parallel railway lines seem to converge at a point in the distance. The sun rays do converge to the sun, but the sun is much further away than the rays might make it look like.[2]
The name comes from their frequent occurrences during twilight hours (those around dawn and dusk), when the contrasts between light and dark are the most obvious. Crepuscular comes from the Latin word "crepusculum", meaning twilight.[3]

I find myself struggling with the thought of losing you. Though I know I will not lose you completely, I know I will lose the part of you that I used to hold so near and dear to my heart. But you can't be that person to me again. Because when I wanted you, I wanted you bad. And though you wanted me, you played me. It was always all of me, half of you. And now I'm beginning to understand it'll soon be all of me, none of you.
I find that I post more regularly on my Facebook page. So stay up to date with me on there!

First rays of sunlight, bird calls, and that translucent green of early spring. Can you ask for more?
If you walk on Dash Point Beach at the right time the colors and lighting remind me of little Italy or somewhere like that.
My wife and I stroll the beach on the weekends and as a result of luck, timing and skills I was able to create another memory along our photographic journey.

Great light and beautiful colors work together in this unique sunset image captured in Grand Teton National Park. With glowing sunset light rays beaming through clouds and rugged mountain peaks, it was a sight to behold.
A bird's eye view of the Dutch woodlands during a foggy sunrise.
It only took about two and half years and numerous flights, but I think this is the first droneshot I took that I thought was worth processing and publishing (:

Summer's Grace - North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway Scenic Mountain Landscape
Crepuscular light rays raining down over the Blue Ridge Mountains along the Parkway in Western North Carolina. One of my favorite stretches of the Blue Ridge Parkway through the southern Appalachians, the views are always amazing from some of the highest elevations on the southern parkway just east of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Hope you enjoy the view! ;-)

The sunset took a surprising turn and therefore only shoot it from the hand. There was no time left for a tripod or filter. A rape field near where I always walk my dogs.
As we bask in the dog days of summer, it doesn't seem that long ago we endured one of the harshest winters in memory! Oh, Canada indeed!
