Waiting, waiting, waiting and then this happened. The sun rose above the headland turning the sea vibrant orange.
I love this scene from the halo around the sunburst to the spray coming off the top of the wave. Beyond that is the surreal amber mist rising above Blackstone rocks like I’ve never seen before.

And learning how to use Lightroom 5...I am used to old Photoshop CS4 but decided to try Lightroom 5 and I love it! There is however a learning curve and I have experienced some frustration. But it is indeed a great program and I do recommend it.
Hope all is well in the world of Flickr!
I feel landscapes are a real weak point for me, so just to say it was all a whole lot more awe-inspiring than it looks :-D

This shot is of Great Keppel Island which is located off the coast of Central Queensland Australia. Great Keppel Island and the surrounding islands are in an area which makes up part of the Southern Great Barrier Reef Marine Park.
Having never been to the waterfalls of the Columbia River Gorge, I really didn't know what would be involved in getting to the Mossy Grotto. I had only seen photos from friends online and thought "wow, that looks amazingly beautiful".
The directions friends gave where something along the lines of hike this trail, there will be about 437 switchbacks, when you get to the downhill section "don't die" and if you find the river you are pretty much there.
Other than a couple of bruises from some slipping on some rocks, dirty pants and soaked hiking boots that took 3 days to dry out... I safely made it to this point and I can honestly say it was one of the most beautiful waterfalls I saw that weekend and I'd gladly do it all again.
This may have been the most beautiful light I've encountered thus far. These are the last horizontal rays before the spectacular sunset seen here: www.flickr.com/photos/mikko_laitinen/28279059770
Standing at the lakeside watching this spectacular scene of sun rays seeping through clouds unfold before our very eyes ... Life, sometimes, is just perfect!
A cloudy sunset with sun light through the clouds forming some gorgeous light rays.
Have a great day!

In 1873 the well-known Hauser family of hoteliers, from Wädenswil in the Canton of Zurich, commissioned the French architect Horace Edouard Davinet with the construction of the Grandhotel Giessbach. The elegance of its architecture blended in with the beauty of the surroundings and thus the hotel quickly became a worldwide attraction.

Gotta press that 'L'
I struggled with a bunch of different edits with this but ultimately just decided to stick with this one. Normally I would write a little passage to go along with my photo but after work today, I'm a little thing called tired.
A huge thanks to William for being the best remote clicker in the world even though we both couldn't feel our bodies.
I find that I post more regularly on my Facebook page. So stay up to date with me on there!
