"Won't you just stay now, with the lightpoles, over a dark street no one else knows. So take my hands, I'll carry you, you can carry me. 'Cause I don't want to wait until tomorrow to tell you how I'd feel the rest of my life."
Forest left today. Goodbye for 5 months until I move, when we can be together for the rest of our lives. But there were a lot of tears shed today. :(
I miss my man.
This photo is reminiscent of a shower photo I took almost exactly a year ago, during my last 365.

Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it's no there.
We went out and drew some plans to determine how we would like to add some lighting to our side & back yard for outside parties and security. Basically, for 75 yrs, this house has had an unilluminated yard. Know anyone who can add a new circuit and lay a bunch of wire in our yard?
Side yard: We thought to put a light on a pole up high by the hill near the road, and add a pole light by the oak tree. We thought of putting a spotlight in the back pointed at the backyard and adding a motion light on the back of the house pointing in and down. For the side of the house by the pig pen, we thought of putting a light pole where the X is. We thought it should be 15 ft high attached to the wall with a bracket. We thought the electricity could run from the utility room.

Sorry for not being so active lately. Busy. But december is here and I finally got the chance to go out shooting in some good light. The days are short now, only bright from 10 to 2 p.m. The sun does not "come up", it only leaves a faint glow as you see here. Have wanted to try out a comp with a pier that goes into a nice horizon for a long time, and yesterday it came together. The only dislike is the lightpoles but cant chop em down and im not all that in cs5.
I very much appreciate your thoughts, good or bad. Thanks for looking! :)

Having snapped the Canada goose on her nest one day last week, I thought I'd cruise over there and get a shot of her sitting on it in the snow, but when I got there the nest was unprotected. By the time I had picked up the camera and lowered my car window the goose pair had arrived. They were clearly not happy to have me so close to their nest. (see next shot)
looks a little better L :)
Had some company in town this weekend and ended up on Fremont St... with all the fun, lights and many pics, I liked this one the best!
There are many beige cameras sprouting on lightpoles throughout the District. Here's another, apparently of the same ilk: www.flickr.com/photos/takomabibelot/310667952
Whose are they?
- This is not a Metropolitan Police Department "Neighborhood Camera" [1] ... although there is one of those on N. Cap at the corner of K Street;
- This is not a Metropolitan Police Department "Red Light Camera" [2];
- This is not one of those gray Capitol Hill cameras [3] whose antennae point towards the US Capitol Police Station.
So whose are they? How long have they been up? Are they proliferating?

The Osprey nest high atop a lightpole at Wind River failed months ago, but the pair still rendezvous there throughout the day.
I watched the male mount the female (without actually mating) three times in about a half hour. I think it's a mutual pastime when both have fed successfully during the day.
