Hobsonish has gotten me to want Austin to make more light orbs- as if I needed a reason

Waaay too much WD40 in the mix makes for big flames & a very over exposed fire orb!!! LOL

Still, it's always good to end a visit with a big burst of light.

Cheers to Chillie 63 for the green gel lighting around the concrete base :-)

A big thanks to all of the Amble tog's who came down from up North to visit the area, a cracking bunch of peeps indeed, a real pleasure meeting up with you all :-))

For the past 2 nights we have taken our light orbs out in the county. It looks like it was daytime, but it was 9:30pm.

A shot of the entire assembly with power applied.

For some reason the wire wool impacting on the floor was significantly more pronounced in this shot - looked amazing even in realtime!

Bit of a fail, partly due to the wind, partly due to inherent shonkiness ;) But the cwb turned out nice enough.

This should have been visible for miles. It was a bit on the windy side, so there was a fair bit of hopping about avoiding minor scorching.

this is a photo of me. taken during test strobic photoshoots with my P.I.C "Photographer In Crime", TIMOTHY ESTRELLA. since i dont have release cables i owe some credit to Tim being behind the camera. LINK to his photostream: www.flickr.com/photos/timestrella/

Strange light object lands on Salt Clay Road at sunset. Our first attempts at orb painting. Artist: Dean Hefren. Inspired by Denis Smith www.flickr.com/photos/biskitboy/

Watch out for the tide, exploring the caves at Seaham. Me and Fellwalker1 stuck our wellies on and ventured to the beach. A great time was had.

Taking advantage of the nearly full moon and clear skys... Windy again though!

Another shot from

"That night at the Pit"

Quite alot going on in this shot,

we have Pink EL Wire being waved around, multicoloured light wand for ribbon and orb and then the whole frame was highlighted with a head torch. Thanks for looking :)

Heavens opened just after setting up the tripod. But it made for interesting blurry orbules on the lens.

Another little light orb series from the EJC 2011 in Munich: Picture 1 of 3.

That's what I got when I made this shot!

Anyway I enjoyed this light painting session as the "live time" mode of my new OM-D E-M5 is the best invention since choclate! ;-) And you don't even need a remote! What you see here is the jpg that came Directly Out Of the Camera (DOOC).

But - for long exposures like that, there's a lot of all kind of noise in the raw files. So for the FHDR version I tried to reduce noise a little before further processing. Decide yourself about the result.

Now I have to think about all these really, really small buttons and reflect if I will keep this nice littel Olympus...

One of a series of 'Just mucking about' kind of images from a bored evening on holiday in Somerset a fortnight ago.

Wing Gundam HG 1/100

We hit up some Garage sales yesterday and I found a Gundam Model!!! I havent built one of these since I was in high school so It was Exciting. Not sure how many people still watch Gundam but check out Gundam 00 thats one awesome Series and thanks for listening to my Nerd Rant.

Kerstin and I made this picture about one month ago at the wedding (in German 'Hochzeit') of two of our friends. Think they didn't realize which univited spherical guests were playing outside. Lena & Wolfgang, I hope you like it! It was a wonderful day and a great party!

There has been some minor FHDR processing to the original picture that came out of the camera. Additionally this picture has been mirrored vertically, nothing else has been changed or added.

I think this is now my favorite light orb ever.

There's just something about this one that I think is magical.

Last NIght was really really fun. We decided to go the the Capitol and try not to get in trouble. Lucky us we didnt, but we did get questioned! haha, but thanks to the State Troopers for Being Great ! we will be back with our full bag of tools soon!

I feel a bit of a schmuck for uploading a definitely tweaked image earlier today, with much altered color balance, so here's one that's totally 100% SOOC, just to show I can do such a thing :)

Playing around with my Poi doing some lightorbs

A buddy of mine invited me out tonight to show me how to make these light orbs. I couldn't resist because it appealed to the geek in me.

Who would have thought you could have so much fun hooking LED lights to the end of a bungee cord and twirling them around (we got some strange looks tonight)?

This was taken in Central Park, you know, the place you're not supposed to go after dark if you know what's good for you.

Absolutely best viewed Large On Black

This is where the 5v power and Ground wires from the RGB LED Chain should be connected on the Arduino Mega
