Great lightning show last night. Only had to step out the front door to see this.
Unlike in the northern tropics this weather is uncommon in this part of Australia consequently I have had little experience at capturing it. I used the old fireworks setting of "bulb" and let the light paint the sensor before shutting down, hit or miss and out of 40 shots I kept 6.

rc-modellbau-blog.com — Gestern hatte ich von meinem Neffen besuch, er hat seinen 1/8er HPI Lightning Stadium Sport Truck mitgenommen. Das war gleich der Anlass für ein kleines Rennen. Da der Detonator relativ kurz übersetzt ist hatte ich nur bedingt eine Chance, auf der geraden ist er an den Detonator herangekommen und hat auch überholt. Es hat echt Fun gemacht, der REELY Detonator bietet echt viel Fun für kleines Geld!

This photo (from my camera phone) shows a Douglas Fir tree that was struck by lightning in Edgewood, Washington today and began to burn.
This is ONE frame later. The entire city is lit with the blue light from a flash of lightning. Amazing!
