Cloud Lightning from a thunderstorm south of Clinton, IL. It was clear above Clinton so you can see stars in the photo.
The dual exhausts of English Electric Lightning XS904 outside the Q-Shed at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground, Leics.
This is a picture of the lightning storm over Cochem castle in Germany. We were sat on the hotel terrace drinking cold beers and enjoying the light show. For some reason the P9 horizontally mirrored the image (the castle is on the left) but the ability to capture lightning easily far outweighs the one click to fix the mirroring in Lightroom :) This picture is straight from the phone. I have not done anything with it in Lightroom yet but I am very pleased with the shot without any further development.

Some stills I grabbed from the footage I shot of lightning over Coral Springs, Florida with my Phantom 3 quadcopter.
A shot from underneath the Lightning seen in my other pic 'Vertical Climb' (taken at the Cold War exhibition at the Royal Air Force Museum, Cosford. The Museum's web site can be found here - www.rafmuseum.org.uk/
I have no idea how to white balance this. I think the colors are puke-y. Used something close to daylight. 100mm lens at F4, 1/80 second, handheld... when I saw the lightning, I pressed the shutter release. The mountains are Papago Park.

I saw some lightning the other night and wanted to see if I could catch some of it on my digital camera. I missed a few good bolts, but caught a few as well. The rain made bursts of light around the bolts, which I didn't really like. This was taken using the RAW format, then the exposure was reduced in Photoshop.
Lightning from Elkridge, Maryland on June 15th 2015. The line coming up from the ground next to the lightning bolt is an airplane taking off.

This is a scan of a proof sheet. Some of the noise is from the paper, some from rain, and dust (I got out as much as possible with my photo editor). The bright spot at the bottom is Market Street. I particularly like this one - the lightning is so delicate.
Around midnight last nite, a big thunder storm rolled into my area, with flashes of lightning going off every couple of seconds. It was brilliant and beautiful. I decided to tinker with the exposure time on my FujiFilm S700, and found out it only takes 4 second exposures max. Then it takes a few seconds for it to process the picture, haha.
So I was up on the back of my uncle's truck in the drive way, holding up a camera to try and capture pictures of lightning. Like an idiot, I don't have a tripod yet, otherwise I would've had far better shots. Even still, it was an amazing storm with very light thunder, and just constant flashes fo lightning for about a good half hour. And remember, in California, lightning storms like this aren't exactly common. Just in case any New England folks happen upon this picture, haha!
