XR749 On display at Score Peterhead (inside the security post) in the markings of The Lightning Training Flight, many thanks to score for allowing us night access
This tree had been hit by lightning and a very large strip of bark was hanging off on it. Several of it's branches were fried bare and you could see a strip in the bark going from where it was struck to the ground. In other words you could see the path the electricity took along the tree to the ground.

Some more storms rolled through last night, but not as impressive with the lightning. I did manage to get one good shot while out.

This is the only lightning I have ever captured, it was in June 2008. And at the very same time my router literally exploded !

Lightning strikes out over the city of Roanoke.
(I had to edit out my finger on the top left of the photo as I was covering my lens from the rain, but it luckily only took up a little portion of my shot. I felt it necessary to get rid of it for the picture though)
This was my first attempt at a lightning shot. It really took me a while to get it figured out.

'Reverse lightning' strikes Lakihegy tower (300m tall) near Budapest border
A frame from a video done on a Canon 5D3. The easiest way to capture lightning me thinks. Next time I'll make sure I'm using a 4K camera.
