Night thunderstorm in North Texas, cloud to ground lightning display. Image captured with a Nikon F3 35mm film camera, later scanned and processed in Photoshop.
This is pretty much the only shot I got of the lightning storm last night. I worked during most of it and as I drove home to grab my camera gear i realized one important thing: I have no idea where to go in SLC to get a good lightning shot. So I went to the closest & best place I knew. The trail head right next to parleys canyon (off 33rd south). I originally thought It would be cool to get lightning over the valley, but I soon realized the lightning was happening behind me. so I turned around and snapped this shot.
Strolling about Bangkok this afternoon when a storm rolled in. I managed to catch a bolt of lightning hitting something in the city (not a person, I hope). It's a rough-and-ready photo as I didn't have a lot of time to react. I'm not sure what the dark patch is near the top; maybe its a trick of the flash of lightning (hopefully no damage).

Some more storms rolled through last night, but not as impressive with the lightning. I did manage to get one good shot while out.
