I love the light of the early morning, but some days I'd just rather sleep... This was shot through a window and through the screen of the sun room. Best I could do at the time, and particularly with the Jays - they're so darn skittish.
Fiddling with a torch at night to see what effects I can get - I can see a rocket ship - what do you see?
Because nobody dares to show their real face.
Dear Makayla,
I know you see what I see. A girl full of regret. Who gave up something that meant so dear to her. A girl who is settling just because it’s the only thing she knows. That girl is you. And I don’t seem to know you anymore.
Always,
Your Mind
These are all my masks with the exception of the one from yesterday’s picture. Sorry I’m posting so late. I just got this idea for the picture a couple hours ago and just got finished editing it. I’m probably going to re-upload it tomorrow. Hope you all don’t mind that :/
I have no school tomorrow! I get to work on three projects..yay :/ And babysit..double yay. But also..pictures! Sincere yay :] Haha.

Some Heuchera leaves photogaphed in my Mother's garden after rain. I love the leaves of this plant. They range from burgundy to mauve in colour and have blue-grey veins that create patterns and texture. The flowers when they appear are delicate and white. When I took this photograph in May the flowers hadn't appeared. There is a green leaved variety too.
As it was so overcaste I've used lighting effects to enhance the colour and texture and a gradient fill
Workers are working at night to fix the track at the train station. I finally got around to fitting the lights in my train. I added the welding flare using Shine www.ohanaware.com/shine.
Thought this one turned out interesting...even in the original shot which is below.......the stem is hidden in the shadow.....so the bloom appears to be suspended........so just did a little vignetting to enhance the daisy a little more...and added just a touch more light on the one the daisy...

Last summer was the first time I ever saw a bald eagle in the wild. Within a couple of weeks I saw several. I had to use digital zoom to photograph this one. I hope to some day get a closer view of one.
I created ‘Awash’ at a time when I was feeling particularly vulnerable and overwhelmed with life as an artist. I was house-sitting on an island for a friend and waking early every day to try and capture sunrise. Because of this I noticed how striking the light looked coming through the blinds as the sun was rising and I liked the juxtaposition between being ‘awash’ with light and the lifebuoy signifying water. The image was created to illustrate an article I wrote called ‘Twelve things no one tells you about being an artist’ which you can read at hayleyrobertsphoto.com/artist-life/
How often does one see both the shadow AND reflection of something at the same time? Maybe it's common and I've never really noticed it before, but the effect produced on this buoy in the wet sand struck me as being quite unusual, and thought it was worth a photo.
Helsinki Cathedral lit up at night with projected lighting effects and orange light pollution in the background. Helsinki, Finland. I have not edited the photo other than to remove some digital noise.

Okay ... I'm going to make a big BIG admission.
This photo was photoshopped. Yes. Truly.
It was taken outdoors. She jumped, I shot it.
I then extracted the image from the background and used a gradient, lens flare and lighting effects.
I'm learning to feather better but overall I'm pleased.
Once in awhile my inner child surfaces and I get a burst of creativity.
Believe me, if I can do it, YOU can too!
