Es ist schon wieder ein paar Wochen her, als wir von unserer 3-wöchigen Tour durch die Rocky Mountains nahe der kanadisch-amerikanischen Grenze zurück sind. Aber die Erinnerungen sind immer noch frisch. Zum Beispiel an diesen Sonnenuntergang am Lower Kananaskis Lake im Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. Wie so oft waren es nur wenige Minuten, in denen der Himmel diese faszinierenden Farben und Lichteffekte zeigte. Davor und danach war grau die vorherrschende Farbe.

It was a few weeks ago when we came back from our tour through the Rocky Mountains near the canadian-american border. But the memories are still fresh. For example, this sunrise at Lower Kananaskis Lake in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. As so often this fascinating light and beams showed up only for a few minutes. Before and after a common grey was the prevailing color.

A tiny wooden spin top spinning like a ballerina "en pointe" in a patch of sunlight on the living-room floor.
An accidental shot, whilst making my way down to one of Castletons caves, selected the wrong shutter speed and got this great shot of the lighting. Added a little colour and hey-presto...

2018 Light Night Leeds West Yorkshire UK (04-10-18 / 05-10-18)
Light Night Leeds is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals. Over two special nights the city centre is transformed by spectacular light projections, interactive artworks and captivating performances by local, national and international artists. On Light Night you will discover over 60 arts events across ten zones in the city centre; from large-scale light projections and interactive artworks, to music, dance and street performances. This year Light Night Leeds celebrates the themes of progress and innovation, kicking off with a vibrant illuminated parade celebrating 100 years of social change since (some) women got the vote.
The Leeds Library, one of the city’s hidden treasures, will be the backdrop for a celebration of Leeds suffragettes, Leonora Cohen and Mary Gawthorpe, and a fearsome and fiery dragon will be making an appearance on the Queens Hotel! So, bring your family and friends along to experience a fantastic festival atmosphere and see the city in a new light!
I noticed this rocket-propelled chandelier upon my recent tour of the University of Toronto...It was kinda hard to miss.

The aim was to capture the colours in the background through the seeds, but again the focus was too soft. (I think I'm learning something about digital zoom here!). I've treated this image with poster edges, and a soft omni effect over the centre of the seeds to enhance the browny-red tones and the detail, then added the dark yellow frame to enhance the background tones and texture.

Puja Pandal. A temporary structure for worship of different Gods & Goddess. In West Bengal , Kolkata , India,
Pandals are built with different materials eg. Bamboo, clothe, plastic, clay, wood, cardboard, glass, leafs, mats ,steel, iron and any conceivable regularly used items.
The biggest and the best are built mainly at the time of Durga Puja - the biggest occasion in this part of India. However in specific cities , specific gods and goddess are worshiped also in different time. There also this type of pandals are built.
These structures remain for four to five days during the worship . After that they are demolished.
Each can cost Several Lakhs of Rupees. ( From Ten Thousand Dollars To Lakhs Of Dollers).
This one is built for Kali Puja , at a small town near Calcutta ( Kolkata ) < West Bengal < India.
The images from this series remind me when I used to have to push Tri-X at hockey games, in terms of grain and tones

I love the light of the early morning, but some days I'd just rather sleep... This was shot through a window and through the screen of the sun room. Best I could do at the time, and particularly with the Jays - they're so darn skittish.
Fiddling with a torch at night to see what effects I can get - I can see a rocket ship - what do you see?
