Light Night Leeds is one of the UK’s largest annual arts and light festivals. Over two special nights the city centre is transformed by spectacular light projections, interactive artworks and captivating performances by local, national and international artists. On Light Night you will discover over 60 arts events across ten zones in the city centre; from large-scale light projections and interactive artworks, to music, dance and street performances. This year Light Night Leeds celebrates the themes of progress and innovation, kicking off with a vibrant illuminated parade celebrating 100 years of social change since (some) women got the vote.
The Leeds Library, one of the city’s hidden treasures, will be the backdrop for a celebration of Leeds suffragettes, Leonora Cohen and Mary Gawthorpe, and a fearsome and fiery dragon will be making an appearance on the Queens Hotel! So, bring your family and friends along to experience "fantastic festival atmosphere and see the city in a new light!
From Northern Ontario, the lighting is very different in this capture. The light source is actually outside of the geode and it is being dispersed through the rock surface into the sample.

Holly that flowers in the fall. Seems strange -- like not enough time to grow berries by Christmas. Our other holly is loaded with bright red berries.

Thanks to James Palmer www.wix.com/cinemaisart/jamespalmar for the suggestion to use flash in the daylight in order to capture the red of the leaves. You'll forever be Joe to me ;)

Musicians passionately engage the audience during a live performance at a bustling outdoor festival. The atmosphere is electrified with lively rhythms and bright lights.
Lighting from a desk lamp covered with red SolarFilm I had lying around, as well as an orange lamp on the left. The camera is held up by a mini tripod, and the background is the back of my PC tower.
Had an awesome photo shoot with the beautiful and talented model Anastasia on Saturday evening. She is such a sweet girl.
Her hair wreath was designed and built by my daughter Emily.

Black and white lighting effects to focus on the star of the show, the early young days of this sapling. I wonder if it will make it all the way?
