In early October my wife and I took a week to explore the Olympic Peninsula in Washington. We saw a wide variety of nature and small towns. To see more pictures of our first day out, read my blog post Olympic Peninsula: Port Ludlow, Port Townsend, and Old Forts in my blog Batteredsuitcase.net

I admire the public works crew that installed this speed limit sign in my neighborhood. Confronted with a street light pole that is far from vertical, they could have simply clamped the sign to the pole, but then the sign would be tilted as well.
Instead, they took the time to drill the mounting holes for the sign in such a way that the sign is level - at least as long as the pole doesn't lean any farther to the right.
