friday, micro storm, in original size you can see the horizontal snow, especially where it crosses the light poles, this lasted for about an hour

I find many light poles during the Christmas season. This one was set up at the Riverwoods Mall in Provo and made an interesting lightscape.

The birthplace of tennis in the country

No editing--just cropped to take out the light poles that were just too ugly.

From the Wal Mart parking lot last night.

...without the crosses, of course. But I could not resist this composition with a light pole and its shadow inviting to a game.

Pentax Q with Laowa 12mm f2.8 @ f8 with substantial crop (just experimenting!). I thought this might make a good B&W when I took the picture, but it wasn't to be.

The snow fences have been removed, and the beach has been smoothed in preparation for summer visitors to Jean Klock Park.

This is still one of my favorite photo of all times, I just love the view with the sunset it really capture the feeling of Montmartre with the stairs and the light pole ;-) What do you like about this photo?

. . . This Snowy Owl was super fun to watch hunt in the early morning light! It jumped off it's light pole perch and went right down on to a rock, and then a short jump into a snowbank. I am sure it caught something to eat, although the final catch was hidden behind a fence.

Have a great weekend Facebook, Flickr, and 500px friends!

This was the baby night heron standing on the light pole when I drove him.

This street performer in Sacré-Cœur, Paris has taken football to new heights. After some spectacular juggling on the ground, he started to climb the light pole and proceed to surprise the audience with flawless juggling while suspended from the top of the pole.

Newtown is quite old town, and you can tell that from the street light pole. if it had a memory, that hould be better than any movies or TV series because it is real life drama.

Created on my ipad pro using Visionn, Glaze, Mextures, Stackables and Formula the tweaked in Photoshop on my PC.

Pont Alexandre III, Paris

This is an incredible bridge in Paris, you have those old light poles on the bridge, it is perfect to do a frame in the frame photo.

Also it was a beautiful blue hour and so the light makes the scene even more special! Do you get nicer shots at blue hour or the golden hour?

I was still up quite late last night so decided to pop out up onto the sea cliffs to try to capture star trails at the GeoNeedle (as you do).

All in all I'm quite happy with the results but would do some things differently next time.

i. Face north to get circular trails (although light polition may be a problem)

ii. Take lots of shorter exposures and merge them (to cut down on noise)

iii. Take a flask and a pair of gloves (it was freezing).

A mackerel sky or buttermilk sky describes a sky mostly covered by altocumulus clouds. It is rare with altocumulus and extremely rare in its cirrocumulus form,

Mackerel skies are spoken of in the popular bywords, "Mackerel in the sky, three days dry," "Mackerel sky, mackerel sky. Never long wet and never long dry," and the nautical weather rhyme, "Mare's tails and mackerel scales / Make tall ships carry low sails." The phrase mackerel sky is an old English folkname, coming from the species of mackerel familiar in British waters, as the clouds look similar to the markings of an adult Atlantic mackerel.

I could have edited it and removed the tall light pole, but I left in for scale to show the vastness of the sky.. ; )

I guess you could say I have clouds in my coffee as I use a lot of Hazelnut creamer! ; )

Have a great day everyone!

Couple of pylons, couple of trees, bridge, median strip, light poles few weeds......
