A metal covering at the bottom of a night light pole shows lovely colors of decay in part caused by dogs urinating on the base of the light fixture.

This morning's sunrise brought sundogs on either side, the brightest being to the right, a fainter one just below the lamp on the light pole. That's our balcony on the lower left.
In many places in Florida you can see osprey on every light pole, making them easy to take for granted. To me, in their wild environment, they are one of the most beautiful raptors.
Definitely a sign of city life ... this light pole has been the home to thousands of bulletins and advertising material going back decades.

I was saving this picture I took a month ago for Flag Day or the Fourth of July or maybe even Election Day, if I needed it, but it seems like an appropriate moment right now. This was one of several flags in similar condition attached to the light poles next to an Indiana farm house. It probably was placed here by some Hoosier who a year ago was absolutely livid over Black football players desecrating this flag by kneeling quietly during a song to protest police violence.
