This one reminds me of something my friend Krista would do. :) She's so good at light, pastel images.
The weather is BEYOND gorgeous here in NJ this week. I don't want it to get humid and hot again but it's coming!! It's been so nice to have the windows open.
I was perched on top of an ice-laden rock with 40 MPH snow-filled gusts threatening to blow me (and my tripod) down into the valley below. But I waited patiently as the sun rose into a sliver of open sky under the low clouds, giving me one of the shortest and most spectacular sunrises I have ever seen. Getting the day going with an experience like this is way more effective than coffee!
This is a unique lighthouse on the shores of Burnham-on-sea.
After the Pillar Lighthouse building was completed it was found that too low a vantage point had been selected to take into account the massive rise and fall of the tides, so a lighthouse on legs was built in 1832 to complement the tower. The Low Lighthouse lights were inactive between 1969 and 1993 and were re-established on 31 December 1993.
The High Lighthouse lights were permanently discontinued at the same time. The lighthouse has a focal plane of 7m and provides a white flash every 7.5s plus a directional light (white, red, or green depending on direction) at a focal plane of 4m. The light is shown through a window at the front. The lighthouse is painted white with a single vertical red stripe on its front face and is 9m tall with a conical roof and mounted on 9 timber pilings. It remains an active aid to navigation and is visited by many thousands of walkers every year.

I am very grateful for everyone of you who faithfully drop by and check on me :) Thanks a lot for that! I will get regular after a few weeks. Till then..keep shooting..photographs that is...

Clicked this picture during the Diwali festival at home a few days ago...
Diwali or Deepavali is an important festival for Hindus/Jains/Sikhs. Diwali involves the lighting of lamps to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the Goddess Lakshmi (Goddess of wealth & prosperity) feel welcome.
Uhm, yesterday's scenes look good. I don't clearly know how they are, 'cause I didn't watched them on my computer, but they look nice.
Today has been HORRIBLE: it was really, really hot and I was forced to eat in the sun because of a "family lunch". Omg, something to forget as soon as possible.
Tomorrow I'll probably go to Rome, because the hot weather today hasn't been enough. I don't know if I'll survive, but if I'll meet Woody Allen (the reason why I'm going there, so excited!!), I'll tell you. :D

beauty is a light in the heart.

Our Mulla Nasruddin was sitting talking with a friend as dusk fell.
"Light a candle," said his friend, "because it is dark now. There is one on your left side."
"How can I tell my right from left in the dark, you fool?" asked the smart Mulla:-))
