The Phare du Petit Minou is a lighthouse in the roadstead of Brest, standing in front of the Fort du Petit Minou, in the commune of Plouzané. By aligning it with the phare du Portzic, it shows the safe route to follow for ships to enter the roadstead. It also has a red signal that indicates a dangerous sector around the plateau of les Fillettes (literally the girls), one of the submerged rocks in the goulet of Brest — sailors remember this by using the mnemonic "the Minou blushes when he covers les Fillettes".

"I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy. Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness: only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that"

Our weekendly round through the nearby woods - we didn't have that much (in the sense of not thawing away instantly) snow here in years.

The giant sleeps. Don't rouse him. Herculaneum slumbers in the light of the late afternoon.

Queste giornate di tarda estate mi lasciano in trepida attesa per le prime nebbie. Buon sabato :)

Decided at the 11th hour yesterday after looking at favorable weather reports to go check out a spot I've been meaning to revisit for some time, the famous Nubble Light in York Beach, Maine. You can't tell from this, but there had to have been a hundred other people here, most of whom were stepping into my frame all night.

The pierhead light at Mevagissey grows pale against the rising dawn.

Have worked on multiple versions of this frame trying to get the lighting right but I'm totes over it - here it is.

I can also assure folk there is plenty more to do in this splendid part of Cornwall than photograph the lighthouse!! :-)

Four arm ceiling light in black/white - my favorite one so far.

I find many light poles during the Christmas season. This one was set up at the Riverwoods Mall in Provo and made an interesting lightscape.

Mornings on this country road always seems to offer up some rays of light. You better have a clean windshield.
