Pawns.
I have this theory that totally blurred pictures are a much underrated genre of photography. Like all theories it needs extensive testing :)
So far so good. I am less convinced about the peer review though...
Another one from the set last Saturday, deliberately unfocused (honestly... I worked out how to change it to manual focus. Eventually... :) ).
The real question, of course, is is this a picture of pawns, or is it a picture of the light around pawns? Answers on a postcard (preferably with a sizeable cheque attached, but I'm not fussy - any sized cheque is good...).
For the Thursday Monochrome group and for my 100x Monochrome and Toned.
Thank you for taking the time to look. I hope you enjoy the image. Happy Thursday Monochrome, and also MBT :)

magical light : that soft, warm light, that produces nice and long shadows and occurs before sunsets
"golden hour" is my favorite time of the day, and my favorite time to shoot
Riomaggiore is a tiny fishermen's village next to La Spezia in Italy. It is well known as a paradise for hiker and photographer, but also 'normal' tourists can enjoy wonderful vacations with a lot of tasty pizzas.
You can curse the gloom, or you can light a light.

A break in the clouds allows morning light to shine through the storm on a beach near Santa Barbara, California. Just hoping that the current drop in COVID-19 cases continues and that it is the break in the storm for which we all have been hoping and praying for!
The colours of an autumnal morning.
Please don't leave multiple invitations to post in groups, or badges. Sorry, but I have no time now.

I do not know why, but taking this picture made me instantly hum this old song by CCR.
Well, you wake up in the mornin', you hear the work bell ring,
And they march you to the table to see the same old thing.
Ain't no food upon the table, and no pork up in the pan.
But you better not complain, boy, you get in trouble with the man.
CHORUS:
Let the Midnight Special shine 'er light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine 'er light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine 'er light on me,
Let the Midnight Special shine 'er everlovin' light on me.
Yonder come miss Rosie, how in the world did you know?
By the way she wears her apron, and the clothes she wore.
Umbrella on her shoulder, piece of paper in her hand;
She come to see the gov'nor, she wants to free her man.
CHORUS
If you're ever in Houston, well, you better do the right;
You better not gamble, there, you better not fight, at all
Or the sheriff will grab ya and the boys will bring you down.
The next thing you know, boy, Oh! You're prison bound.
