There is always light at the end of the tunnel: Peace for everyone in the world. Keep hope and stay healthy during 2024
Feeling the constant war between the darkness and the light. I can’t find the words to express it so I make pictures.
Day 18
____________________________
As a way to cope with circumstances beyond my control, survive and work to keep fighting for life I decided to try to take at least one photo (or more) each day. I call this “a photo (or more) a day.” Practicing this form of therapeutic photography helps me work to focus on the present moment, gives me something familiar and enjoyable to focus on as I use photography skills that have become like second-nature to me and being able to view the images I capture helps me recall what I was thinking, feeling and noticing at the moment when I created the photos. More of the photos from this series can be seen on my Instagram account
I may not always have the energy, time or capacity to share photos from this series—especially with the very challenging circumstances my family and I are experiencing—and will do my best to continue taking a photo (or more) a day even if I’m not able to share.
If you would like to support my work and my family, one way you can do so is by ordering my zines:
Many thanks for your support.
This week has all been about the Country Club Plaza and its festive holiday lights. Again I was without my tripod so I planted myself square in the middle of the street and set up the long exposure with the camera on the ground of the median. I was looking for a little luck here for some dazzling lights, car trails, and some unexpected creative fun. I particularly like the car light starburst in the middle of the frame. I need to go back down with my tripod but I thought this turned out fairly good. Thoughts?

Anvilcloud and I hopped in the van made a rush to the old fire station to catch some of the light from this sunset unencumbered by hills and power lines. A photo he captured that evening may be seen here.
I was going to wait until it was really dark but I decided I would just turn the little light bulb on!!

Soo dunkel ist es im November auch nicht auf Borkum, das man am lichten Tag die Strassenlampen anmachen muss ; )
It is not so dark in November on Borkum that you have to turn on the street lamps in the light of day ; )

I found this one lane road over a small dam on a lake. The fog was very thick. The Sun had already rose, but the fog diffused the light.

This, my fine flickr friends, is what the inside of my head has looked like for the last week - the feathered canyons and dark clouds (to quote Joni Mitchell)of a summer cold descended upon me . No photos, no inclinations even, no uploads and no likes, no comments and finally this evening I rushed down to the beach to get some shots and it was overcast and no waves. I looked upwards and saw these great summer storm clouds with the sun peeking out behind for just a few minutes - a perfect visual metaphor for my week ;)

Funky retro bulb picked up in the pound shop ages ago. A good old fashioned one with a filament that glows red hot!
This is one from my first session with light painting and my crystal ball.
