This is my entry for week two of #letsgecreative2014 under the theme "books". Creating this photo has just shown me more weaknesses I need to work on. I think before this project I never thought much about planing a shoot or concentrate on details. I also have to work on my posing skills ;) Have a nice week everybody!

“Each time I make a photograph I celebrate the life I love and the beauty I know and the happiness I have experienced. All my photographs are made like that, responding to my intuition. After all these years, I am still motivated by the radiance that light creates when it transforms an object into something magical. What the eye sees is an illusion of what is real. The black-and-white image is yet another transformation. What exactly exists, we may never know.”

— Ruth Bernhard

I decided to start this year with a weekly project called "Let's get creative 2014". One self portrait each week. Now, self portraiture is completely new to me and i thought this project might be a good way to get better at it. Also, i can't wait to see all the people attending the project grow and shine over the year. :D

Let's create something beautiful!

this week theme for lets get creative 2014

For once my concept worked! lol.

Actually two concepts worked, but I will be posting the other another day.

Somehow managed to take and edit this picture all in one day.

Even though this was the hardest shoot I've ever done, I'm dying to go back to the sea to shoot!

this was a though week. I didn't have a lot of time to shoot since there was always something to do but I had to do this today and once I was outside it felt good to be alone with my camera.

Eeeek late photo for last weeks theme! It was probably the most delicious shooting so far. :) The cheesy pasta ended up as my lunch afterwards.

Ella Ruth is this amazing photographer who started a group called 'Let's get creative 2014'. Photographers get together to start a 52 week project together where we all conform to weekly themes.

This weeks theme is 'camera'

My week 4 photos. The first images I’ve taken with my new camera. I love that it’s full-frame, I love being able to see everything.

I had a whole other idea for my week 4 photo but the 1000 rose leaves I ordered haven’t arrived yet. So I went to the wibra ( a cheap shop) and found these fake flowers and I immediately knew I had to use them.

Don’t know if I prefer the dark images or the more fairytale images but I think I like them all.

The forest is amazing but it is so cold and I can’t stand cold because it hurts me. Winter hurts me and that doesn’t seem fair because I live in a pretty cold country.

Week 25 - Stairs

This used to be one of my favourites places to shoot, but now It's near to collapse and all underpinned, which makes me really sad. All the entrances were blocked up so I had to jump through a window, and as it was inevitable, I fell and bruised all my legs :D (yay for using shorts while photographing on a abandoned shattered house, 10 points to Silvia!)

(20 frames expansion + 20€spent on red cloth + 5 bruises on the legs + 1 trespassing property law broken *ops*)

This took 3 days in photoshop, and I'm so sick of it right now I just need to post it and get over it.

Nothing beats a glass of wine after a hard day at work!

I know these images don't click together, but I have too many problems right now. In three months' time, I would've graduated from university... If I hadn't been expelled. Today. After almost four years.

Yeah, so now I have to transfer to another university before the expulsion papers are ready. And instead of three months, I'll have to study for another year and a half.

Of course my best friend would be sick on the week the theme is "friend" xD

I had a shot I took of Steph's silhouette a while back and this concept came to mine. I had always wanted to try this overlay double exposure effect, so I thought I'd give it a try.

Anyone who has ever done this effect I commend you, it was not as easy as I thought it would be. And this is a really rough version.

I don't plan to cheat on this 52 week project, I really do want to take a photo every week to go with the theme. So the photo on the left is the silhouette I took today of myself and the one on the right is Steph's.

The concept is not only using me and my friend for the theme together, but representing that the industrial world and natural world should co exist and be "friends".

Week 4 : Flowers.

If you've been following my work long enough to know my style, you'll know how much I love flowers. I already had a lot of ideas in mind, made up around the concept of flowers so this wasn't hard. The hard part was me being clumsy - accidentally scraped my knee and got a minor cut on my finger. But other than that, all is good!

Happy Chinese New Year! Best wishes for the year of the horse.

It decided to snow the day I could take my week 5---silly snow! The weather has been jumpy- yesterday was nearly 50 and now we are getting hit with buckets of snow. But snow is a magical thing and I don't mind it, just makes everything a little harder to handle. This project is suppose to be a challenge though! I don't own a lot of hats but I found this one in box in the basement. I used to read these books about wolves and shifters and thought it would be a good fit :)

Ths weeks's theme is "fairies". i just gave up on it as you can see!

This project is open to anyone & everyone who wants to get involved! :D They've set a theme for each week of the year in the hopes that these themes will inspire all of us to get creative with our self portraits and keep the inspiration flowing! :)

#LetsGetCreative2014 “Hippies” - This was by far the hardest theme. I had absolutely no clue what to shoot.

I tried several things and everything failed and depressed me even more. It was on my way home, after I decided to skip this weeks theme and do something else, when I came across this canola field that was much higher than the fields before. I thought that I might give it a last try, I really didn’t want to give up. To my surprise I ended up with some photos that looked promising. I rushed home and edited them straight away, and this is the outcome. It could have been closer to the theme, but it’ll do I think ,)

Have a great week everybody…and never give up! ;D

#letsgetcreative project week 6 -Theme: Street

Week 26 : Space

In architecture school when we talk about space we refer more to a feeling than to an actual physicality. We define it as the fissures, the crevasse between what's solid. The black to the white, the sensation to the perception. What happens between the inside and outside of the building, but also what happens between the inside (the habitant) and the outside (the inside of a space).

This is such an emotional piece for me. Me and architecture, we have a love-hate relationship. As much as I can see the beauty in such a complex discipline of art, the stress and frustration is creates on me it's, sometimes, unbearably. This career made me develop an anxiety disorder and occasional panic attacks.

And sometimes the only way I feel safe is crawling into a tiny ball on the farthest corner and waiting for the anxiety to slowly disappear...

Forever wondering how to tie a bow tie so that it looks neat.

11/52: Glasses

self portrait therapy is sometimes all you need

Uhm... kind of... lost my mind... yeah dunno what to say.

First I was like: Yeah this is going to be great

Then I was like: Oh... well... many arms...

In the end I was like: OH GAWD WHAT HAVE I DOOOOONE

Not sure how to feel about this. :/ At some point I fell into that silent hill hole and completely gave in. Yepp... At the beginning I wanted to portrait bipolar disorder but ending up with some weird shit... I have serious problems. But well it was really fun editing it. :)

Week 47: Twins

If there were two of me in this world....XD

Is that a sassy smirk? I think it is.

"Pink" has been the most challenging theme for me so far (with the exception of "Street"). I just couldn't get anything right - the initial idea fell through, and so did plan B. But I like what I came up with in the end!

6/52 - Street

I want to run,I want to hide,

I want to tear down the walls

That hold me inside

(...)Where the streets have no name

This didn't turned out as planned at all! I was visiting my best friend in Madrid this weekend, so I couldn't took my tripod with me!

I didn't know the city as I know mine, so finding a spot to shoot was hard and a bit stressfull.

But I've realized that I tend to rely on song lyrics a lot when I'm struggling with concepts, so thank you U2, for saving my week!!:D

This was my back-up plan idea for this week, but I'm hoping to shoot my other concept this weekend (to redeem myself!)

I hate this picture for being a typical "girl with her teddy bear" picture, but at least my bear's hoodie matches my new haircolour.

Week 17 - Trees

The little errant girl,

her skirt distressed,

her mind too,

could only find comfort in the overwhelming solitude of nature.

And there she will stay until her life regains meaning again,

Or until nature drowns her

and then two will became one.

This is plan B (as always).

I had to do a "little" property trespassing...*oops*, nearly slipped down while I was climbing up, and nearly slipping down while climbing down.

Plus when I was up there I discovered the remote didn't work because it was too far away :D

Thanks to my brother who silently judge me while taking the photo (but at least he didn't laugh at me...not to much at least!)

When winter would seem to go on forever I'll just stand here and wait for the Spring to arrive...

I just wish those mountains were true...

Week nine. Theme: Patterns.

Painted patterned cupboard...grandma's old patterned dress...why not both!? Luckily for me, Bexie took charge of my hair & make up and let me steal her rather epic glasses for this shot! There will be more pictures to follow from my pattern week shoot, mostly of the lovely Bexie herself. Keep a lookout!

No time. Much strees.

Really obsessed with handwriting at the moment.

Also, I like how my hair behaved that day :3

So I started a 52 weeks project with a lot of lovely photographers, and I'm really excited with this. I hope I can learn a lot with this!

Our first theme was a self-portrait of our cameras and us!

Thanks to the girls who are doing this, I'm really grateful!

Cheers everybody,

Jordi.

52 weeks - week 3 - books

pulling in the night

I had this picture in my head, and I really wanted to try this, but I thought that I would´nt be good enough. So I´m really really proud that I did it. And I like the outcome, it´s not perfect, but I am pleased. At the beginning of this year I wasn´t confident at all with all this photographymanipulation stuff, but with the 52weeks project I´m really starting to believe in myself. That I can make it. That I am able to. Let´s get creative 2014 is really the best thing that could happen to me :)

The sunset was gorgeous the other day so I took advantage.
