Week 21 - Mirrors
& 75/100 - Mirrors
I hide behind reflections,
reflections that most times are nothing like me,
reflections of the things I'd like to be and I'm not.
Since I saw this photo by TÉ…YLOR I've been obsessed , so even when I tried I couldn't get away from it.

Week 14 - Hippies
One of the things I admire most about the idealism of the Hippie movement is the conection towards nature, the enhance of the qualities and beauty of mother earth.
This is my take on it, the beauty, movement and awe of mother nature.
Simple, as the simplistic hippie lifestyle.

15/52: Upside Down
When everything seems to be going wrong, you can feel all mixed up and upside down like no matter which way you turn there's no right way.
I'm taking part in a 52 weeks challenge at letsgetcreative2014.tumblr.com/ The theme for this week was "camera", so I took "new" Polaroid cam out to town ;)
The theme of this week was Spherical and I thought represent my dream: travel around the world, the giant sphere we inhabit.
#letsgetcreative2014 Week 4 Theme: 26/365 & 4/52 Theme: Flowers
Let's Get Creative is a 52 week self portraiture project.
Week 45: Treasure
I'm really unispired lately and I feel my work has become predictable and boring.
But I also have no time to go around jumping up and down fields to take photos.
So maybe it's a combo autumn-stress.
I wish it snowed here. It's not even cold, and I'm tired of not being able to wear cozy sweaters!
Week theme : pattern
A geometric pattern is a kind of pattern formed of geometric shapes and typically repeating like a wallpaper. (source: wiki)
I first imagined something with tons of crossed pattern t-shirts for this week but then nothing really was creative enough.
I created this from 3 photos we did when I met Toby.

11/52 - Glasses
&76/100 - Broken Pieces
'Some scars are visible on plain sight, some are a bit on the shadows, but there are other ones, the ones that slowly destroy your own existence, that can't hardly bee seen.
I have plenty of those...'
Very early on I decided that I wanted to avoid regular glasses. So magnifying glasses where my option, but, suprise!, it's kind of hard to find one nowadays!!
I know that it's sort of hard to actually fully see/understand the object in this shoot, but that was the best I got and I'm running out of time (as always!)
So excuse me for that.
Super grainy, but I shoot this at 1 am (Ugh..uni is such a pain in the rear!!)
I though of removing my super hardcore veins, but end up thinking they give a creepy feel to the image :)

Week 10: Fairies
The forest isn't filled with their glow any longer,
their lights are dwindling in the wake of Spring.
The forest mourns them- as do I.
But in the faintest hope I guard them-
until the last of lights go out.

When I read that the theme for week 2 was "Red", I thought that would be easy for me, I'm a redhead. But then I decided to go a less easy way and cover my hair. It didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted, but it'll do :)

Theme - Flowers
I've finally caught up with everyone else taking part in the #letsgetcreative2014 project!
Yesterday I met up with the wonderful Cat Lane and we had an amazing photo day/adventure!
We took portraits of each other as well as self-portraits for our 52 weeks projects.
I couldn't decide between two photographs for my "flowers" week, but this is the first.
Please take a look at everyone else's work here!
First selfportrait since last July. Sometimes it takes you a very long time to realize you've missed something.
This is a story about how we all want to be different from what we are. About all the things we wish we had and about those we wish we didn't.
Allergies have been robbing me of energy recently :/ All I want to do is sleep it seems! But I'd rather have a bed in the forest for this weeks theme!
Sorry for bad quality! I have no idea what happened to picture. I've tried to upload it several times...
"Still my words.
Lock them up.
My brain will keep shouting..."

*thinks hard about how to make a night-themed picture without actually taking it at night*
Oh right, I'll just wrap this starry thing around my head, that should do it.
I love flowers with all my heart! I love sitting out under the sun gardening in the Summer and taking care of God's wonderful little creations. I always see flowers as some hopeful thing. Something that gives me joy and rattles a positivity in me! I am a spring child most definitely but I love the snow since I grew up in Southern Florida and saw it for the first time moving up in NOVA. So to have flowers in this weeks theme when everything around me was covered up to my knees was a challenge but I went ahead and ran around anyway. Because even if all the flowers outside were sleeping under the snow it still was a beautiful sight!
I've learned that levitation photos can be quite painful and annoying if you don't have anyone to help you. Especially if the surface you are using is soft like a bed. I managed to complete my concept though =]
Interesting fact: Those clouds are made out of the fluff from my dog's toys that he's ripped out over the past year. I've been collecting it for a while now, so it's nice to finally use it in a photo.
model:Me
A blue sky with clouds describes my life of the past few weeks. I found out that I was had a very severe vitamin deficit. Almost instantly my back pain disappeared and my mood lifted. Apparently I had spend a whole lot of time in this mood and I didn't even notice it anymore.
I have to take vitamin D droplets once a week. The first three days are great and the sky is nothing but blue.
However, the second half of the week I slowly feel my depresiion creeping back and my back pain becomes more difficult to bear.
I think this might be the most difficult part, knowing how much things can improve and then slowly getting worse. It's like a rollercoaster ride. But I'm determined to get to the top.
#letsgetcreative2014
I just started a 52 weeks self portrait project together with all the lovely people from our #letsgetcreative group. Let's wee what we create! Each week we have a different theme that we have to execute and it will be so exciting to see how differently we respond to the same briefs. Can't wait!
The first theme is Camera and I came up with two images. I couldn't decide which one I liked more, so I edited both of them.
Words dripped from her skin;
stories ripped her heart apart in a futile attempt to escape;
her blood became ink so long ago.
Unable to stop the neverending flow she let herself be engulfed by its own self
Week 41: Character
81/100 - Pen & Paper
I was a literature crazy before photography showed up in my life; two loves I owe to my father.
Even though I love to read long intricate stories, I've never been able to write one. The short format has always been my kryptonite. I'm fascinated by how a couple of phrases or words can create a whole background story, character and mood (which totally makes sense with photography and the ability to capture a whole story on a frame).
That, also, I share with my father. He's been writing short poems and haikus since I can remember, in every corner of paper, in the last couple blank pages of a book, on hotel notepads...
So when I came across this massive folder full of his old letters, poems, thoughts...I knew I had to pay a tribute to that.
So this is me flowing in a sea of my fathers inked words.
