A new entry for the awesome #letsgetcreative2014 project. The most challenging part this week: the weather ;) It rained all day and I had a hard time keeping my stuff as dry as possible. Nevertheless I’m pretty satisfied with the outcome :)
Have a great week everybody!
This is the start of something I hope will keep me on my feet and get me motivated to shoot again.
I decided to join some wonderful people in Lets Get Creative 2014 too shoot self portraits with every week this year. So today I grabbed my friends and had them help me take some pictures in the middle of nowhere for this and also with large format. This was the first time I shot with my 85mm, and it is amazing. I also hope to get back to my roots this year and shoot a lot more film.
So here's to another year of growth and my 3rd 52 weeks project.
3/52: Books
This is the first of two ideas I wanted to do for this theme, the second of which I am hoping to shoot tomorrow whilst out taking pictures with the lovely Suzy Wimbourne!
With thanks to the amazing Coffee With Art in Bedford - this picture would not exist without their kindness!

theme was toys :)
there's a funny blogpost going with this haha
9/52: Patterns
I took a break from my project to finish up school and sort things out for my internship that I start next week, but I'm still continuing on!
I thought I jump back into the swing of things by shooting for Stephen's project Finding Yellow. It's all about finding the positivity in life where ever you might be. I decided to take that and create this since sometimes finding positivity can seem impossible, but positivity is everywhere in all the little and big things. You just have to find it.
A bit late, but here's flowers.
For this week I wanted to represent purity with the white flowers and snow.
1/52: Camera
I owe it to myself and my sanity to start taking these again. Self portraits might be silly but I will always love taking them and they will always bring me back to who I am.
To kick-start this, I've decided to take part in a 52 week project called Let's Get Creative 2014, started by the lovely Nathalie Donado and Ella Ruth Cowperthwaite who I had the pleasure of meeting in 2012 at a London meet up. Each week they have a set theme and there is a big group of us on Facebook and Flickr participating and supporting each other.
I'm looking forward to returning to my old self again.

Why are we our greatest obstacle? We are given intellect, creativity, and reason. We posses astounding abilities yet we still harbor fear and an unwillingness to take risks which are bred from our own insecurities. We have wings, if only we could fly.
Probably the most time I have spent working on a photo, even though this appears relatively simple.
Many thanks to my friends for their feedback on this photo!
/still catching up/
my poor grandma is always so concerned about me being soaking wet after shoots like this. she made me soup and tea<3
outakes + before/after on my blog :)
10/52: Fairies
I wanted to do a continuation of last week's photo for fairies week. Last week was finding the positivity, this week is following it and continuing to find it everywhere. I recently moved to start my internship, and I don't know anyone so it's been scary. I absolutely love all the trees and streams of water around here though. I plan on catching up to this project a bit and exploring and taking pictures on my days off. Hopefully you'll be seeing many more uploads this summer!
PS: my life goal is to become a fairy so I thoroughly enjoyed this week's theme
My week 3 theme for Let's Get Creative 2014 self portrait project is book. Instead of doing something academic I decided to hit myself in the face repeatedly with a large heavy book.
"Hit him with everything in the book" was what I had in mind as I pondered this week's theme. :)
"isn't it ironic how we kill flowers because we think they are beautiful;
but we kill ourselves because we think we are not."
4/52: Flowers
On Saturday, Suzy Wimbourne and I met up for a day of helping each other shoot our 52 week project images and photographing each other. It was an insane amount of fun and we managed to wrap up our shooting just before the biggest hailstorm I have ever seen came over the area. I also shot a second idea for the books theme which I'm finishing up today.. keep your eyes peeled!

Living in Woodstock may have inspired me to feel entirely at peace for this week's photo. There's no better place to be this summer.

When I think of red I tend to think of little red from the fairytale. For this weeks theme I wanted to create something capturing that so I became little red! About froze my fingers off for this photograph but it was worth it! My first lesson from this project today- mostly a reminder of how thankful I am for those who brave this kind of weather for me!
I'm working on befriending all the animals of the woods :) <3
This past week's theme was street.
I had this idea of being on a street that only goes one way.
You can't go any further on your journey since your path was cracked.
This wasn't in the plan so you're not sure where to go.
You could overcome it, but you're not sure what the consequences would be.
Learn how to start your own fire, and you won't need anybody to keep you warm
Week 49:Sparkle
I'm in a bit of a pyromaniac mood lately apparently!!
I also have still 7 themes left to do before the year ends...plus study for all my finals in january...YAY!
Two shots planned for tomorrow (fingers crossed!)
Happy Holidays to all! <3
