Sometimes young animals try things for which they're not biologically equipped. I think climbing trees might be one of those things...for an antelope.
Six students get hands-on experience with community activism and engagement through the Living Democracy Project.
Mum and one of her twins sharing a snuffle hole back in May, both cubs are still around, both surprisingly small although not thin. I saw one of them tonight though and it has a horrible wound above the tail, it's not unusual for them to have gashes and scars on their rumps and necks but it's the worst I've seen. Almost like a big chunk of flesh has been ripped out rather than a cut, it's all open and wet, it looks awful. Dunno what's happening, haven't seen mum for a while but hopefully she's underground with newborn cubs. I can't find out anywhere how long they're supposed to stay underground with the new cubs, mum has to keep them warm for a while I know, I just want to see if she's suckling or not. I don't know if last years cubs are being driven out and attacked, I hope if that's the case they have the sense to leave soon, if that is how the cub got hurt it's obviously getting serious. God, I'm having kittens now, why do badgers have to be so bloody argumentative ?!?! And what if the neighbours turn on them when the cull is in the news !?

The Wonder of Learning exhibition is on display January 25, 2019 - May 1, 2019 in the Playhouse Gallery of Overture Center and the Youth Services room on the lower level of Madison's Central Library. "This exhibit from the world-renowned schools of Reggio Emilia, Italy is free and open to the public. It will help inspire parents, educators and other advocates for children to better understand the powerful learning that occurs in the early childhood years. Visitors will be immersed in the world of the much-admired Reggio Emilia philosophy of early childhood education and understand how children, from birth, use many “languages,” such as art, music, play, drama and literacy, to learn about and make meaning of the world." Two surfers-to-be practise balance at the shore of Corralejo, while a dad walks his daughter on the beach. The Lobos Island is seen at the background. Isla de Lobos (Wolf Island), just 2km off the shore of Fuerteventura, got its name after the large number of Sea wolf (also called monk seals) that used to live there in the past, before extensive hunting drove them extinct.

Billy thought Sam would enjoy actually riding around on the mower. Turns out he loved sitting there with his daddy, but got a little scared at how noisy it was when it started. Maybe next mowing season!
To the uninitiated, this might just look like an ordinary skyscraper. But to some dude from LA wandering the streets of an otherwise flat neighborhood of Oakland in Pittsburgh, this behemoth demands to be admired. It's the Cathedral of Learning at the University of Pittsburgh campus. I'd share pictures from the inside, but, wouldn't you know it, hundreds of students were actually studying in there, and in quite bad light. I didn't think it proper to bother them with my pesky flash.
Instead, I'll let you see what other people's flash bulbs uncovered:
