Yet another of the Japanese maple leaf. Where I live not too many trees have this kind of fall color so it is always a treat for me to see it move though all the different changes of color it gives from start to finish.

I think maple leafs are one of the prettiest leaves around. It doesn't hurt that the maple leaf is found on our flag.

Found this giant frond at the Botanic Gardens, Oxford that was shaped like a giant scoop. Loved the veins and general greenness of it!

This was taken weeks ago while driving through West Virginia. As much as I love the autumn and all it's awesomeness, I admit to feeling a little pang in my chest while being reminded of how fleeting summer is this year.
