Sunset, deep and red;
now the leafs are transparent
feel them in your hand,
how soft the structure,
how long the caress of light,
how peaceful and aglow,
and in my dreams;
they are still shining,
in the darkest night
We don't have a lot of red leaves falling this time of year in San Diego County, so when I saw this one in front of the Santee library I took it home to exploit.
Strobist info: I set this down on a piece of black foam board and then lit it with a YN560-II in a 24 inch soft box camera left about 3 inches from the leaf. The flash in manual mode was triggered by a Yongnuo RF-603N.

The weather was dull, grey and freezing today so tried to think outside my normal 'box' and come up with this.
21 bags of leaves dropped from the maple tree waiting on the driveway for pick-up. Massive leaves entire on grass, viewed to show massive tree….

Genus Gunnera, aka Giant Rhubarb. Probably the manicata species.
A most unusual plant with a VERY large leaf!
Native to western South America, eastern Africa, and parts of southeast Asia.

I just browsed my folders in my PC and I found this picture.
It was 2.30 in the morning (Malaysia) and I couldn't manage to sleep. Thus, I edited this image. Boredom kills. :S
