The brown oak leaves, which have tightly held on to their tree all winter, shadowed the snowy trail on a sunny winter day.
When the sun came out from behind a cloud, this leaf just glowed - such a lovely bronze! (09-11-11-8314)

A leaf from Acer saccharum, the Sugar Maple. The color is typical, and unfortunately, so are the brown spots - some sort of disease.
This huge maple was lying on a wooden bridge near a local reservoir. The lighting was perfect and it made for a strong image.
