Thanksgiving in Canada has just about come to an end, but I hope that most of you had a wonderful day and were able to spend it with family and friends. This red maple leaf just reminded me of the occasion. Fall has such awesome colours. As you can see, the grass was dry due to all the warm days we've had, but it made the leaf show up even more.

Our Daily Challenge 5-11 September: Leaf or Leaves.

Autumn is creeping up on us.

black brow-clouds

scudding over a breeze-teased leaf

bearing a pear drop

about to fall.

Perhaps not yet ....

a small infinity of moments dangle hopefully

everything's on edge...

No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,

No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds -

November!

Sycamore leaf. They're all falling down now that it's cold.

I placed it on my black pants leg to offer some contrast (and awesome black and gold coloring! :) ).

Hurricane Sandy a.k.a. "Frankenstorm" is heading this way and arriving tonight, so if I disappear for a week or two, that would be why. They are forecasting sustained high winds for days and loads of rain, so prolonged power outages are very likely. Hoping they are wrong and that all of us in the storm's path make it out without too much damage.

It is amazing what we will take a shot of in all this lockdown time , resorting to hairy green flies now !! This one is perched on one of last years leaves that is still attached - guess this character would love to be in Ruth's latest picture !!

Bel/Bael leaf is used in the worship of Lord Shiva, who is said to favor the leaves. The tri-foliate form of leaves symbolize the trident that Shiva holds in his right hand.

As we're enjoying autumn's look,

She's fading while hanging on a hook.

Cruel reality is a pleasure to our eyes,

Where her soul is dying with the time that flies.

I wasn't sure which way I wanted to turn this image but for me it has the most impact like this.
