Playing with smaller features from Arts Centre. Architect was Benjamin Mountfort completed in 1877. The Arts Centre was badly damaged in the earthquakes and has undergone extensive restoration. I enjoy finding the different gargoyles that feature in unexpected places.
The surface remains at Magpie Mine are probably the best example in the UK of a 19th. century lead mine. It has a fascinating history spanning more than 200 years of bonanzas and failures, of bitter disputes and fights resulting in the "murder" of three miners, and a Widows' Curse that is said to remain to this day.

I washed his first face up with water and dang, the face got washed up. T_T
so, my sister fixed him again and i think he looks better now.
I tried a brown wig on him and he looks really better, but he is my residential redhead so i changed it back to his wine wig.
Tell me what you guys think of his hair and maybe id really change it to brown. XD
This is the reverse of a lead token. It appears to show a hand held balance or possibly a merchants mark. If looked at the other way up, then what might be an animal is seen at the top. There are four pellets in the field with further pellets around the edge. The piece is 26mm in diameter. W. 7g.
A late 17c early 18c date is likely, the piece acting as a penny? Recorded by the Portable Antiquities Scheme under LANCUM-9BBDE1.
Chipped lead paint is hazardous. Flakes of paint form into lead dust that becomes airborne and can easily contaminate anything it lands on.
