Abandoned lead works, Newcastle quayside.
Please note: exploring derelict places like this can be dangerous, explore with care and never alone.
Lead is still burnt in the fuel here. Long hours sitting in traffic with trucks that have exhuast pipes pointed at your car produces black snot. Precautions taken, shit pay warrented.
Lead me with strong hands
Stand up when I can't
Don't leave me hungry for love
Chasing dreams
Show me you're willing to fight
But I still feel alone
Seen at a gas station (still in operation) in a small Swabian town: The signs on this gas pump say that you can choose between diesel, premium (unleaded or leaded) and regular gas.
I chose unleaded premium but wondered what I would have come out of the “leaded premium” hose. Leaded gas was phased out in 1996 and became illegal in Europe in 2000.

I was in awe of the absolute power and strength displayed in this incredible statue.
In the 19th Century two pieces in the Castle Howard lead statue collection fell from their plinths and broke .. They were Hercules & Antaeus and Pluto & Proserpine. Sculptor Michael Major was tasked to recreate these statues, using a mould taken from an identical copy, and the successful replica was placed on display on its original plinth, designed by Nicholas Hawksmoor, in 2000.
